Hi,
posde is right... your receiver has to support DTS, DTS-HD Master, Dolby TrueHD, etc. decoding.
The BD/DVD disk has to be encoded with DTS-HD Master, TrueHD, etc.
Receivers normally will read DTS-HD or TrueHD and decode this format. This decode will show up on the receiver window. I haven't seen (doesn't mean it's not out there) a receiver that allows your to set the default sound field to TrueHD etc. Normally you set the default sound type to ProLogic, Neo etc, and when the receiver read the TrueHD encoding it overrides the default setting and plays TrueHD sound.
Something else to watch for is that some BD/DVD players may not provide the features by default without turning on/off options to provide DTS, TrueHD etc.
Cheers

Hi,
Live is running LMCE without installing it. Core and MD is installing LMCE on a system with terminal/keyboard etc. and you can use this system as a Media Director to watch videos, listen to music etc. Headless is just the Core system. You stuff this in a closet and its basically like a server. You create MD's elsewhere on the network to watch videos, etc
Personally I usually build a Core and MD system as more of a troubleshooting unit. If it doesn't work on a MD does it work on the Core/MD?
Until very recently, I finally changed my Core/MD to another not so old hardware platform, I used to need to run the option (F6?) and remove rghb quiet and add all_generic_ide to the kernel line.
For some reason the install would fire up run for so long and bomb. Something didn't like my hardware platform - which I figured was something to do with my DVD drive.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Hi,
I upgraded a core/hybrid with ATI card and VGA/analog audio.
2 MD's - one to a 1080p TV using a Revo 330 nvidia ION and HDMI audio/video. - second to a 720p TV using an AOpen DE7000 nvidia and HDMI audio/video.
Everything seems fine.
The DE7000 is a new addition (dumpster diving find) and on initial setup, prior to upgrade, AVwizard didn't want to adjust the screen size smaller.
The screen size is a little big.
I'll check TV settings and if nothing is found try xorg adjustments as per another post.
Great job l3!

Hi,
Hooking a laptop or PC to the VGA port on a TV can lead to a lot of weird issues.
Things like, when you go back to your high def cable or sat your picture is whacked because some TV's auto swap the screen size to try to accommodate to the input signal, but, they then don't swap back.
Start by making sure your graphic card resolution on your PC or laptop can do 1920x1080.
I've even seen junk with graphic card settings on PC VGA out ports being bizarre because the graphic card was set higher to a higher resolution than the max TV resolution - 1080p.
Cheers
