Installation issues / PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout
« on: April 21, 2015, 08:47:02 pm »
Hi,

Did all the latest updates/upgrades etc.

Tried to boot an existing MD and got...

CLIENT MAC ADDR: etc
CLIENT IP: etc
GATEWAY ID: etc
TFTP ....   which gave a PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout  error message.

Then,  TFTP ..... tries again and after about 5 minutes I receive

3X  PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout messages and
      exiting NVidia Boot agent

System reboots.

Cheers.

« on: March 24, 2015, 10:36:16 pm »
Hi.

I downloaded and installed this snap.

It loads and after restart provides the Ubuntu GRUB select screen.

After selecting Ubuntu it runs (for a bit), but then loops back to Ubuntu GRUB select screen.

Cheers

Installation issues / NAS recognized and added but no meddia addded
« on: February 09, 2015, 04:25:40 pm »
Hi,

I have finally got the pieces together to rebuild my dev box (to try to get cu-box working - haven't managed to do ANYTHING since October/14).  I loaded on 12041002114429514, which is my bullet load, running on my main system.  I did update, upgrade, dist-upgrade.  Everything fine.  Fired up my NAS, it was discovered, added username/password.  No media discovered.  I rebooted, nothing. I tried a resync from webadmin Media Files Sync  and received the following.

Hi,

Core/Hybrid with nvidia drivers, Sarah A/V present, no Flickr photos, NAS detected username/password entered - media updated and MD's announced (x2) and created.

Best one in a long time.

Will test out what I can.

Great job guys.

Cheers.

I've ordered one of these to play with.

Just wondering if anyone else has tried to use one as a MD.

Hi,

Same as...

http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=13717.0

And besides having to manually enter the same fields I checked off and saved "Use 5 second pings to ensure connection stays alive" on Device Templates #1837 & #1768.

I rebooted with the NAS off, then NAS on but each time the NAS was not checked as being Online in template #1768 and would timeout and go into hibernation.

I tried checking the windows shares as online, then powering down/up NAS, closing re-opening webadmin (which showed the shares as being online), but, NAS still went into hibernation and media on NAS was never discovered by UpdateMedia.

Cheers

Hi,

On initial install no network configuration messages but did get some systemd-udevd messages until hal loaded.

A/V Wizard - no problems.

Setup Wizard ran with no Sarah A/V.

ifconfig was good, using Nvidia drivers, no Flickr photos.

Confirm Dependencies log showed the usual suspects.

Did update/upgrade with just

report chown: cannot access //var/www/mythweb/data 0 and dpkg:error processing package pluto-mthtv-plugin ( -- confure):

Edited lanman client change in smb.conf and restarted service

Powered up NAS.  NAS discovered.  Volumes detected.  UpdateMedia discovering content.

I built a MD profile, was discovered by the router but failed Diskless_Setup.sh.

Message after fail [    33.396623]  random: nonblocking pool is initialized

Cheers.

Hi,

Hi,

On initial install I get waiting for network, waiting 60 more seconds and booting without a full network.

This time I tried physically reversing ethernet cables and trying again but it doesn't matter what physical ethernet wiring is.

Same messaging for network occurs.

During initial software load I did see a message about /etc/ddclient.conf line 8 Invalid value for keyword 'Login'.

systemd-udevd failed to execute messages were generated but AVWizard did run.

On restart of AVWizard, after A/V parameters selected a bunch of systemd-udevd were generated but ConfirmDependencies build did run.

ifconfig was checked and eth1 & lo was present but no eth0.  Eth1 was dcerouter ip.

LinuxMCE install messages appeared but No Sarah/House Setup wizard.  Rebooted.

No networking messages, ubuntu splash screen sat there.  Eventually LinuxMCE install messages were generated with orbiter screens generated.  Good sign.

Ifconfig showed eth0, eth1 and lo.  No issues with eth0 aliases.

Setup wizard ran without Sarah A/V.

Basically nouveau drivers, no Flickr photos.

General Info Plugin Download Software retried -X3- CIFS Utils (old Samba Utils), Pluto MythTV Plugin, asterisk-perl, Linphone library, EXIF/IPTC metedata manipulation library, Qt GUI Library MT v3, Debian Font Manager, MNG Library, Pluto MythTV Player.

Confirm Dependencies log showed the usual suspects (CIFS Utils (old Samba Utils), Pluto MythTV Plugin, asterisk-perl, Linphone library, EXIF/IPTC metedata manipulation library, Qt GUI Library MT v3, Debian Font Manager, MNG Library, Pluto MythTV Player).

Did update/upgrade with errors for pluto-mythtv-player and plugin.

Edited lanman client change in smb.conf and rebooted.

Powered up NAS.  NAS discovered.  Volumes detected.  UpdateMedia discovering content albeit slowly due to the usual suspects.

The usual suspects tried to download during NAS software discovery - X3.  A little annoying but understandable.

Cheers.

Hi,

Core/Hybrid with nvidia drivers, Sarah present, no Flickr photos, NAS detected username/password entered - media not updated.

Checked webadmin had to manually add fields to Device #33 File Server #1837 -username/password and check Password Required box.

Manually add fields to Device #34 Volume_1 Windows Share #1768 - username/password, Filesystem, checked read only and Online.

Manually add fields to Device #35 Volume_2 Windows Share # 1768 - Filesystem, checked read only and Online.

Reboot and have to manually check Online for both drives.

In Media Files Sync added LinuxMCE Video Files to get check for exist both on disk and database - did resynch and nothing.

Rebooted, rechecked Online - no media being updated.

Tried service smbd restart - nothing.

Cheers

Hi,

Basically no Sarah, nouveau drivers, no Flickr photos, eth0:1 alias again so alias down eth1 up with 192.168.80.1 ip address, did update/upgrade with errors for pluto-mythtv-player and plugin.

Confirm Dependencies log shows CIFS Utils (old Samba Utils), Pluto MythTV Plugin, asterisk-perl, Linphone library, EXIF/IPTC metedata manipulation library, QT GUI Library MT V3, Debian Font Manager, MNG Library, Pluto MythTV Player.

Did lanman client change in smb.conf and service restart then powered up NAS.  NAS has yet to be discovered.

Cheers.

Tried this out.

When setting up initial screen resolution HDMI/1080p/60hz, on Continue, system generates tons of system udev-failed to execute lib/udev/socket:@/org/freedesktop/hal/udev_event no such file or directory messages.

Loops back to AVWizard screen - no escape.

Hi,

Tried this load out.

Core/Hybrid system using nouveau driver, no Sarah, no flickr photo files.

Tried to create MD and failed.

ifconfig on Core/Hybrid showed alias of eth0:1

eth1 was down.  Did ifconfig eth1 up, ifconfig eth0:1 down

ifconfig -a looked better.  Tried to pxe boot MD - failed.

Rebooted Core/Hybrid and eth1 down.

Tried ifconfig eth0:1 down, eth1 up.

Lights are on but there's nobody home.

Cheers.

Hi,

Just a heads up.

if you want things to go a little smoother, (save yourself a bunch of PITA, grrr, grrr, you dumb a$$), do your editing for  /etc/samba/smb.conf to include "client lanman auth = yes" and "service smbd restart", before you power up your NAS for auto-detection.

Follow your install notes.  If you don't have any - write some, and follow them.

Cheers.

Hi,

Basically neither version is happy doing this.  (Then don't do it!).

12.04 will crash on reboot with the screen showing...

  rmmod /lib/modules/3.2.0-60-generic/kernel/sound/sound/soundcore.ko

I ran recovery mode and appended rw init=/bin/bash to the end of the linux line so I could get around that aggrevating enter root password - for maintenance or Control-D to continue and the root password always fails.

Anyway, I checked the xorg.conf in 12.04 and the nouveau driver was still listed.  I tried changing to nvidia but no joy, LMCE does reboot but hangs at oribter generation - I think.

14.04 booted with an error message, then rebooted and stalled @ orbiter generation, again, I think.

This is the log activity...
