My point is, although i realy realy want lmce to work, please realise this:

-Home automation:  I dont use it yet
-Simple DVD player, mp3 player, TV sat player , tv recorder, photos etc.. => I used it and i am guessing many people do

Good point: Stable, FREE ,copy, possible home automation function

Bad point: When playing movie: A screen crack appears in fast moving pictures (i have a 2.5GHZ dual core), very limited support towards satelite cards, does not know wat it should do when i connect a USB stick with pics, language support is limited, no blu ray support, etc

But dont worry i wont remove my lmce software , i will probably do a dual boot.

I realy appreciate the hard work , and i know its imporoving, until then i stay standbye

Who knows , after a month maybe i am back with lcme :)

Guys

I am a big linux fan, i always work under linux and play under windows

But this time i am sorry to say that mediacenter Vista has better features then Lmce.

First the screen crack does not appear when you watch DVDs, online channel work, plugging in a usb stick with photos work!
Music you can even buy online, you can copy with your writer, support for many many hardware cards

Never thought i would say this but these are my thoughts

Users / Tearing
« on: March 18, 2009, 11:50:00 am »
I have a question about the tearing is this pure software related?

If so is it fatal for linux mce and mythtv?
Does it work on windows mediacenter because they have better driver support?

Is it hardware related, if so how strong must hardware be

Ok,

after a lof af reading, looking around on the web and posting a few questions here on the forum. I finally made a decission. I've ordered a Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-S-Plus and a Hauppauge WinTV CI - CAM adapter. I'm in Belgium and want to use TV Vlaanderen as a provider. The goods are on the way so now I hope the best. I'll post my experiences and if everything goes well I'll make a wiky about it. Btw, I'm intending to use VDR.
Wish me luck and thanks for all the helpfull replies.

Thingie

so how does this work?

Hi... Great to hear your planning to use lmcevdr :-)

let us know how you get on with this card/CAM. We'd appreciate some feedback ;-)

I have setup a mce on my tv, but a family member has a 100Hz tv and he sees no GUI

So i would need to set the lmce back to the video setup mode..

How do i fo that as he startsup the VHS out of the graphical card, but  we do not see it

I hope linux gets the rights soon.. fiddeling on windowsto get it on LinuxMCE is too much time wasting..

I see the Blu ray disk section getting bigger and bigger at the local video store... so come on.

Thats all i can say ;)
Simply sticking your head in the sand and saying things like "so come on" isn't going to help resolve this issue.

Well i am sorry but i do not blame you guys or anything..
But all i can do is ask for it and hopefully many people will ask for it :)

If i could i would start righting code

but its good that people want it, no?

Hey Guys

First , the people who see the software working on a nice LCD screen at 1080p are blown away by this software and its many features.
No Windoz OS has this..

But the question always comes, does it work with Blu ray?

There its a bit emberassing to say.. in future.. or DVD is also very good...

How far are we with Blu ray, this is very very important for a Mediacenter i think

the 2350 is only 45w

but you have no problems playing at full hd at 1080p
