no, I didn't really get it resolved. I scrapped the MD and made a new one. So far its working, but I don't know if it will hold. For me this whole problem popped up, when I went on vacation for two weeks and left the core running. When I came back the disk in the md wasn't showing anymore. I inquired here in the forum about it and was told I should just reboot the md and the updatemedia daemon will find it again, which in my case it didn't. I then went on to rebuild the image and ended up scrapping that MD too and made a new one. Then after a while the abovementioned problem surfaced and I ended up booting the MD and then immediately rebooting it again to have access to the files there. I already opened a ticket for that : http://svn.linuxmce.org/trac.cgi/ticket/840

vdpau is responsible for hardware acceleration in video decoding, so its generally a good idea to have it running. as for the lines in your movies, thats called "tearing" and as far as I know its happening with alphablending activated for the ui. Instead use overlay, which doesn't look quite as fancy, but gives you better readability for the menus...and of course gets rid of the tearing.

Sorry for the delay...I had a little less time at my hands for a while, but here you got some filenames:
Star.Trek.Enterprise.2x02.Carbon.Creek.avi
Paradox.1x01.avi
Two.And.A.Half.Men.2x03.A.Bag.Full.Of.Jawea.avi

just a few examples.

check this out: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Web_Orbiter

you have to follow the steps detailed under SETUP, since this will give you the Proxy Orbiter. You should check the config of the Proxy Orbiter for the Listening Port- thats the one you have to put in the ini-file.
if you followed the WIKI, as you said, then you should copy the complete arm directory to your SD, turn the Wifi of your cell on and start the orbiter. Also set the png quality to 100 as mentioned earlier here.

Users / can't access files on MD
« on: October 12, 2010, 06:59:53 pm »
I have an issue with my MD: I can only access the files on the disk there, if I reboot the MD, even if its just started.
Usually when going to bed, I shut this MD down, when I want to watch TV, or a movie, I turn it back on...that worked flawlessly without a problem
Now however, I start the MD..TV is nice, watching movies is okay, but for example if I want to access the files on my MD, I have to reboot it and only then I can see whats there.I could let it stay like that for days and the files won't show up, stopping and starting the mediaupdate daemon via webadmin doesn't do anything.
How can I check this out?

I'm well aware of that, but so far for my phone its at least working like that. I wish I could rotate the display for the touchorbiter but thats a no go so far.
Weborbiter also gives me Problems with the resolution. It only works well if I configure opera for mobile view, which is not how I usually use it
On the other hand, I would very much like to use the java mobile orbiter with bluetooth, but so far I don't seem to have that one on my system.

Okay, thats at least a working solution. Horizontal would be way better though, but I don't want to sound like whining. I guess something will be coming along that road.
Thanks again :-)

Thanks again for the help. That one did it.
Now its back to orientation and resolution... I cannot get it in the right orientation. It doesn't matter if its horizontal or vertical. On my phone the image always runs out to the right side. I don't know, something seems to interpret the resolution the wrong way

thanks alot mate, but its not working for me.
I compiled it all without problems, copied the edited the orbiter.ini appropriately and copied the arm-directory to my sd.
When I start the program, I get an error message :Failed to load png. Other than that, I see the rotating cursor and thats it.

okay, I know this is an old thread, but I'm trying to revive it.
I now have a rom on my HTC hd2 with Sun Java 7.1 supporting JSR82.
I edited the registry on that phone, so that pairing the devices is not required anymore. I also changed the registry, so that authorisation would not be required anymore. Still they Core fails to push the java orbiter. I again copied the javamo.jar to the phone and tried to execute it.
Here is the report:
Quote
Application cannot be installed because critical information is missing from the application file (.jad)

edit: okay, slap me silly....the file is 0 byte.....do you know where I can get the actual file?

« on: September 29, 2010, 05:45:39 pm »
I just checked and compared file-permissions for the subdirectories, but as far as I can see it all checks out, so I guess there is a problem in the webadmin or something.
What bothers me is the fact, that its only on my MD

Users / filestructure problems
« on: September 24, 2010, 08:47:42 pm »
I'm having an issue with the filestructure on my MD. I put my TV-Shows there, but if I want to make subdirectory for another season, I cannot access it from the webadmin. The directory does not appear in the directory tree on the left navigation panel. This way I cannot access the files in that directory.
So far I checked and verified, that this only happens on the MD. The structure on the core is unaffected by this.
Please, if anyone has an idea about this, let me know.

thanks

I cannot enter some directories via the web-admin anymore.  they do not appear in the directory tree, even if I just made a new one
