Feature requests & roadmap / twinview out of the box
« on: April 27, 2008, 08:56:05 pm »
I would like to setup a linuxmce box which controls my projector and a big TFT monitor as a TV-replacement. Both devices would be connected to the DVI-Ports of my graphicscard (geforce 7600gt) My system would be a hybrid, since as of now I don't want to use a separate Media Director for either the projector or the TFT. So far I was told, that linuxmce does not support twinview out of the box, but it would make things a lot easier I guess.

I am preparing to give Linuxmce a try. So far I would like to use a hybrid system. I would hook up my soundsystem to the box, which shouldn't be a problem. However I would also connect my projector via DVI on one port and a monitor via DVI to the other port of my graphicscard. The projector has a native resolution of 1024x768 and the monitor (Viewsonic VX2835wm) has 1900x1200. Primarily I want to use the monitor as a TV-replacement. In my understanding they should be working with their native resolutions. So I'm wondering if Linuxmce is able to discover and use the displays, if they are not present all the time, since I will switch them off, if not in use.
