ok, so last night I deleted the md from the system again.
This morning I reran /usr/pluto/bin/Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh and recreated the md...and lo and behold...everything ran through without a hitch :-)

I wish, but I don't think so. Upon closer inspection, I made a wrong report. Accessing the nas directly, everything is ok. However accessing it through the share of linuxmce, I cannot get to the files, because there everything belongs to root. I can confirm this, by accessing the same path with my android device, which gives  me the same result. So  I believe the  problem lies with linuxmce, rather win10 or android.

I let it restart...I powered it down, rebuilt the image....its always the same so far.
I go through the AVWizard just fine, resolution, sound...everything is peachy...then it starts generating the screens, goes through Stage one, starts on Stage two, can't exactly say until which screen it gets. Then this window pops up and it as a blank button, it goes away after a while, whether I try to push it or not. Comes back several times...and when that finally stops, it starts generating with stage one again!
oh, I forgot- it uses hdmi for video, spdif/optical for audio

Installation issues / fresh net install 01.01.2016

A Happy new year to everybody :-)
My server gave out and I had to replace the mainboard, along with the cpu.
I wanted to try 14.04, but I could not get any sound via hdmi. So I went with 12.04 again. As I didn't see the latest snapshot for this year, I went with the net-install...which had me use the original 12.04.05 iso. This one still doesn't like my gt610- the snapshots work nice with this- so after intalling it and fiddling the drivers, I got sound and everything is okay.
Right now I'm trying to setup my MD--and it seems a running in circles with generating the screens...it goes to stage one and generates screens, starts stage to and then I get big windows title "Prompt_user" with something that looks like a blank button...varying in size...and then the whole things seems to start over.
Any ideas?

The problem is....whether I access the nas directly, or via linuxmce share, its the same

I got a seagate blackarmor as a nas. my lmce runs on 12.04. The nas is detected and lmce can see all the files. I'm using lmce file structure there.
Now all my files there belong to root. Even though the acl says, that everyone can do anything...my windows10 pcs cannot access anything, even though I've connected with credentials from lmce.
Do you guys have any idea, what I could do?

and I thought it was my hardware :-)

I got the same issue...have you tried using your windows orbiter to switch tv-channels? Because I also have that issue, but I can't say yet where this comes from.

Users / cloning to another hd

Guys, I think my ssd (240GB), where lmce resides, is going to die on me....the systems hangs quite often and finding errors after almost every clean boot doesn't seem right to me.
So I got me a second ssd (256GB) and I thought I could clone the system over to the new one. I wanted to make a new install, but with little luck. Currently I cannot really use the recent snapshots and doing a net install is quite a headache for me. However that is not due to lmce, but rather the installer of kubuntu 12.04, which requires me to start with nomodeset, since it absolutely hates my nvidia-card.
So I either could clone my existing system, or I would have to go with 14.04, since the installer there plays nice with my hardwar.
What would be the best course of action? Clonezilla, gparted...or what?`

Cheers
Mario

I'm not completely sure, but I believe I found a hardware issue. I will try to solve this and see, if the problem died with that.

I checked that again. I opened the windows orbiter and clicked on TV. It caused an immediate reload and it produced a new coredump
