I am happy to report, that after taking out the shutdown-line, everything appears to be running nicely :-)

Hello guys, I am having a little trouble making sense of how qorbiter handles TV-Shows.
Lets say I have a number of different TV-Shows with multiple seasons. The I put them in the filesystem is by having a folder that names the Show and then subfolders with the respective seasons (i.e. Season1, Season2...)
All in all no problem. I have also tagged those shows with there Episodes properly. With the onscreen orbiter I would go to sort them after filenames and navigate to the show>season>episode and select the episode I'd like to watch.
With qorbiter I go to video>TVshows and then I am presented with a number of buttons pertaining to the shows, however each season bears the name of the show and nothing else. So I have to guess, which one is the season I want to watch, trusting the sort order is ascending.
I have tried changing the view with the help of attribute, but I think I'm missing something.
What is your experience so far?

Nah, I didn't...I believe its still with the standard configuration....I checked on the net.
in /etc/vdr/setup.conf there is an entry MinUserInactivity that should be set to 0 if no automatic shutdown should occur.
I set that now, lets see.

With the help of posde I was able to get VDR running now, but I've come across another issue with VDR, probably.

the allowed_hosts.conf for xineliboutput didn't do the trick. I can stream to vlc or gomplayer...no problem. TV (connected to the core/hybrid) no way

ok after editing streamdevhosts.conf in the same way as svdrphosts.conf by allowing 192.168.80.0/24 access, I can now use vlc to stream. TV however not yet.
I saw that there is another config file for xlineliboutput, that perhaps needs the same setting...at least it looks the same. I will try and report my findings.

I tried vlc and it cannot open the stream.
To access VDRadmin I needed to change svdrphosts.conf to allow for 192.168.80.0/24 to connect.
I checked in VDRadmin and found that livestreaming was set off...I set it on.
I verified that port 2001 is being used.
I will try to disable the core firewall to see, if something is blocking there.
VDRadmin also has a link to watch tv, but even there nothing happens.

I made a fresh install today -actually two, but thats a different story.
I could tune and create a channels.conf. So far so good, however VDR is not starting.
I found this in /var/log/syslog:
in additon to this, I also found out that /etc/vdr/plugins/xineliboutput/config is a broken link the config in /var/lib/vdr/plugins/xineliboutput is missing

in additon to this, I also found out that /etc/vdr/plugins/xineliboutput/config is a broken link the config in /var/lib/vdr/plugins/xineliboutput is missing

Good to know.
I did a clean install and want to give vdr a try. Now I checked in the wiki how to set it up. It mentions there, that in webadmin->advanced>configuration->VDR-Setup, i could do that- set up VDR. However it says there I should use commandline to configure it...is that correct?
I also saw on the screen, repeatedly: failed to get Pluto VDR.

I'm sorry to hear, that you had to encounter an i***d user. your help has always been very welcome with me.
Anyways, its not the first time I hear, that none of the developers are using mythtv. However, that does beg the question, why having it included at all. Is there going to be a move to drop it entirely? I will try out vdr right now...I'm guessing some of the developers use that to watch TV...if so, then there must be a good reason for it.
