Hi there . is it possible to use linux mce as a web server . i want to do  this to save on esb . rite now i have  trixbox pc ,a web server pc and storage pc

i would like to run them all under linux mce ,

could this be done

LMCE can not do dual screens. In order for you to get the TV to have the LMCE screen, you need to have the laptop bootup, to LMCE either PXE or DISK, and then press and hold the "Shift" key. This will launch the AV Setup Wizard, and then you can select VGA (press "1" on your laptop keybaord") , and use its output instead of the DVI that it is set to use on the laptop screen.

By holding down the shift key it allows me to switch from the laptop screen to the tv or both.

So yes you can dual screens at the same time .

Hi folks ,

I've Just successfully dual boot linuxmce & windows xp with out any problems on the same laptop harddrive.

But i just have one small problem , how do i get linux mce to switch over to my external monitor  eg my lcd tv .

When i connect the lcd tv vga cable to the laptop i get the both screens with the Kubuntu loading ,but when the linuxmce starts it only shows on my laptop screen and the tv is bank.

i have tried holding fn & then pressing f5 as this changes from screen to screen but it doesnt seem to work.

do i need to install the drivers for linux .please advise on how i can get it to work

as my whole idea was to be able to move from tv to tv.

how can i find out if my drivers are install corrected,  mythtv keeps saying that failed to open card. step by step on how to get it to work.

After  months of on going problems with linuxmce i finally got it stable and it turn out to be a hardware issue .Now my question is ,

1, I live in Ireland,Dublin and i was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction on were to buy the rite wireless lights sensors for my house .eg what will i need for all my rooms to be control be linuxmce ?

I know in the video that he says that you can get them as little as 3 s dollars but were ?

I have  Two thousand euro to spend on all my equipment and at the moment i'm buying three fiire thin clients for my televersions .i'm just stuck on were to get my wireless lights sensors?

if you have an old windows 98 cd ,boot it up and delete the partitions using the fdisk command. if not use windows xp or vista they both do the same job. once the partitions are deleted reboot the machine using the quick dvd from linuxmce.org .this should fix your error when copying to the harddrive.

REMEMBER that if you delete the partitions any os system will be gone .hope this helps.

how can i update the built in free pbx to the latest version???

Good news , i have found out that my old 3com ethernet card was causing my linuxmce to become unstable i have now hammer it with a hammer. good news is that it is stable now ..

thanks for the reply but i have install in on my other machine an for the last couple of hours  its working and hasn't crash at all .i think it might be a hardware issuse with the other machine  .going to do a md with  the other machine and see what happens .will post back here later .

i'm starting to think thats as my other machine hasn't crashed yet .but as they say dont speak to soon.

Hi guys . First of all i'd like to Apologize for been smart and like to thank you for your help.

sometimes it a heppens just after ten minutes . the linuxmce becomes unstable and doesnt respond to mouse ,keyboard or remote.

I've been at it for three weeks now and still get this error . I have install it on another machine just to see if its' an hardware issuse and after it was installed the first thing i did was checked the error ,agian the same error was there. nothing else.i'll report back with details on how it goes.ie if crashs.
