Users / Adding a NTFS hard drive under 1404
« on: March 07, 2016, 01:55:56 pm »
Hi Folks

Instead of opening  another topic I am going to post here as I have the same problem.

Just installed 14.4 the latests snap shot and ran a sudo update.

Plugged in my USB 4TB Seagate  Expansion Desk  external hard drive with all my media,  and the LMCE didn't ask to added it to the system.

Instead I had to mount it to /home/public/date/videos/dvd (dvd is a new folder I created )

sudo mount /dev/sdb2 /home/public/data/videos/dvds

The drive works prefect in 10.4 and LMCE picks the device up with out any issues.

As you can see from the out put of lsblk, the device is there

NAME   MAJ:MIN RM   SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT
sda      8:0    0 465.8G  0 disk
|-sda1   8:1    0 461.9G  0 part /
|-sda2   8:2    0     1K  0 part
`-sda5   8:5    0   3.9G  0 part [SWAP]
sdb      8:16   0   3.7T  0 disk
|-sdb1   8:17   0   128M  0 part
`-sdb2   8:18   0   3.7T  0 part /home/public/data/videos/dvds
sr0     11:0    1  1024M  0 rom

Here's a link to  paste bin with the out put of  my system specs

it seems the only effect it had was there is no Sarah videos and it didn't give me  avwizard, but has  setup fine as far as i can see, I have the basic UI  and the video plays fine.

Hi Posde

Thanks for the feedback,  understood, maybe we can purge id-my-disc when running a sudo upgrade or is it remove from the latest snap shot?

Users / lmce-md-meta packages have unmet dependencies
« on: January 24, 2016, 12:35:50 pm »
Hi folks

I edited the  /usr/pluto/bin/Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh and enable "raspbian_armhf"  LMCE 14.4

Ran /usr/pluto/bin/Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh and ended up with the following error

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
lmce-md-meta : Depends: pluto-avwizard (>= 2.0.0.46) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: pluto-avwizard (< 2.0.0.47) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
/usr/pluto/bin/Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh: line 170: /tmp/TeeMyOutputExitCode_3193: No such file or directory

Does this effect the Raspberry Pi2 setup and how do you fix such error

Users / lmce-media-identifier upgrade error
« on: January 24, 2016, 11:50:19 am »
Hi Folks

Just ran an upgrade on 14.4 and lmce-media-identifier is giving the following error

dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/lmce-media-identifier_2.0.0.47.16010531792_i386.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/pluto/bin/External_Media_Identifier', which is also in package id-my-disc 1.8.ub1004
dpkg-deb: error: subprocess paste was killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/lmce-media-identifier_2.0.0.47.16010531792_i386.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Fix for me was to

sudo apt-get remove --purge id-my-disc

sudo apt-get remove --purge lmce-media-identifier

sudo apt-get install lmce-media-identifier

Tried to re-install id-my-disc

get this error

dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/id-my-disc_1.8.ub1004_i386.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/pluto/bin/External_Media_Identifier', which is also in package lmce-media-identifier 2.0.0.47.16010531792
dpkg-deb: error: subprocess paste was killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/id-my-disc_1.8.ub1004_i386.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

There seems to be a conflict of packages .

Users / Re: Nas box doesn'T let me access my files
« on: January 23, 2016, 10:19:38 pm »
Couple of things you can try. See can you access like so

\\dcerouter\home\public\data\other\windows share of nas

Using putty login decrouter check file permission

cd \home\public\data\videos\windows nas  press enter
ls -li  enter
You may need to replace video with other

Sounds like root has the access

While still same folder make a new folder
mkdir test

Cd out
Then  chown your user names here -R \home\public\data\videos\window nas\test

Then see can you access it on the windows machine

My guess is you will get access under \home\public\data\other\windows nas

Hi Posde

what's required in hosting a Svn system, my assumption is that when a ticket is raised in relation to a bug, the ticket is then assigned to a developer, where the developer updates the ticket with information regarding the fix, the  ticket holds all information as its updated. each issue or  bug is assigned to an equine record or ID.

If this is the case, then I can build it over the next three weeks, if  you could provide exactly what's required for such system that would be great, here's a screenshot of a site  I quickly put together locally on my home system just now . modifications can be done to to whats required

Let know if you require such website and I will work on it.

Hi maverick0815

In windows are you able to access using run ? open up RUN from the start menu  and enter \\192.168.80.1  this will open the network  enter your root username and password for LinuxMce.

If you get any errors, like can't find the path then your windows machine is not on the same network as LMCE, if your using virtualbox you need to change the network settings from NAT to bridged.

Cheers
