94  LinuxMCE / Feature requests & roadmap / proper user environment on: January 01, 2009, 12:50:27 pm
I would like to have KDE to start from the environment of the user currently logged in into LinuxMCE when switching to the KDE desktop. So they will have proper homedir and configuration options and the desktop can really be used as a normal PC.
95  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Marantz SR Series RS232 #1918 Bug? on: December 19, 2008, 12:30:33 am
My media would not play and I thought it might be related to the Marantz template. So I wanted to disable the Marantz device. However when I tried to press save LinuxMCE complained about the Volume Level which was set to -43 in the template (which was also the actual level on the amp). I had to put it on 0 to be able to save it. After that the media would play again. When I re-enabled the device playing media failed again.

Is this a bug and is there a workaround?
96  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: How to use events? on: December 16, 2008, 09:44:40 am
what does State stands for then (instead of the 'Time of day' option)? Since that has values as "Daylight' and 'Afternoon' etc.
97  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / How to use events? on: December 15, 2008, 11:43:13 pm
I would like to use events. The first thing I am trying is to have Linuxmce only control the lights when it is daylight. So what I do is:

- go to Advanced > Configuration > Events
- From the entri "Watching - Living Room/Family Room" that responds to the 'Watching Media' event click the criteria link
- then I click 'Add segment'
- in the new entry I add: 'state' '=' 'Not Daylight'

After saving and reloading the router Linuxmce crashes when I try to play media. What am I doing wrong here?
98  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: lainchmanager restarting orbiter when trying to play media on: December 15, 2008, 10:37:01 pm
This seemed to be events related. I deleted all events I had that were related to playing media and now it's working again.
99  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: help on ATI catalyst 8.11 on 0710 on: December 14, 2008, 09:33:17 am

Go to their website or copy over the file from your support DVD, and use those drivers, you'll save yourself many hours  Wink

Unfortunately the linux drivers package of the model that I have that is downloadable on the Asus site does not contain video drivers.
100  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: More than one core (server, not CPU) on: December 14, 2008, 09:04:45 am
And although the MD's are then diskless you can just as easy add a disk to a
MD that is then recognised by the core and can be added to the storage of the system as a whole. So the only point is that you:

- need to have everything connected to you LAN
- need 1 pc that is always on, connected to the internet and controls everything

101  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / lainchmanager restarting orbiter when trying to play media on: December 13, 2008, 11:14:07 am
I finally thought I had a solid X going (ATI 8.12 drivers) but when  try to play media immediately the launchmanager is shown and the orbiter is restarted. The log of the media player is attached. Is this X related or is something else screwed?

Any suggestion is welcome. thx!
102  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / help on ATI catalyst 8.11 on 0710 on: December 10, 2008, 05:40:17 pm
Anyone has a working setup on 0710 with the latest ati catalyst 8.11 driver?

I have a ASUS M3A-H/HDMI with 780G chipset with onboard HD 3200 GPU.

I get X and see the screensaver but clicking just stops the current picture so I guess it is some kind of overlay.

Any help would be apreciated. (working xorg.conf / install procedure )
103  LinuxMCE / Feature requests & roadmap / set wake up alarm in orbiter on: December 06, 2008, 07:35:47 pm
It would be nice for people with unregular wake-up schedules to be able to set the time for the alarm for the next day in the orbiter. Lmce could also ask what to do when you put the house to sleep:

what time do you want to wake up tomorrow?

It would also be cool if you could link towards online calendar to have a wakeup time based on that.
104  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: mythfilldatabase problem (ulimit) on: October 01, 2008, 06:38:18 pm
I still have not got this working properly. It seems that there are multiple causes. First there is an eternal loop in the script /usr/pluto/bin/Config_Ops.sh in the function WaitUntilMythTvInitialRunXMinutesOld. So I commented that function in /usr/pluto/bin/MythTvDailyFillDB.sh (line 18):

# WaitUntilMythTvInitialRunXMinutesOld 2

I also had to do a:

chmod -R 777 /root/.xmltv/

(because mythtv keeps using the configs in the root dir)

it looks then now at least it looks like tthe database gets filled.
105  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: missing link destination on: September 16, 2008, 06:15:31 pm
I also had a

mount call failed: 13

running in a loop.

After running:

exportfs -ra

on the core/hybrid I walked back to the MD and it was running.
