Users / No sound on cisco 7970
« on: November 25, 2013, 08:06:28 pm »

I just connected a Cisco 7970 (using sccp) to my setup but the incomming sound is not working. Anyone knows what might be the issue.

Maybe interesting for others: I also had an issue with connecting to my sip provider which gave me the message  'The Number You have Dialed is not In Service' when caling the number. I seemed what caused it was that reverse DNS did not resolve to the hostname. Specifying the IP address in the host field solved that.

Users / phoenix solo usb
« on: April 09, 2013, 02:02:02 pm »
I have a phoenix solo usb that I would like to use with linuxmce. I connected it to my hybrid which runs 3.0.0-32-generic and it get recognized properly:

Code: [Select]
Apr  9 13:04:09 dcerouter kernel: [187079.892394] usb 2-1.7: new full speed USB device number 5 using ehci_hcd
Apr  9 13:04:09 dcerouter kernel: [187079.988101] input: AKM                       AK4571                    as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.0/usb2/2-1/2-1.7/2-1.7:1.3/input/input11

Apr  9 13:04:09 dcerouter kernel: [187080.022557] usbcore: registered new interface driver snd-usb-audio

Code: [Select]
Bus 002 Device 005: ID 0556:0004 Asahi Kasei Microsystems Co., Ltd
However linuxmce did not notify me of anything and no template was added. I manually added the template (Solo USB Conference Microphone #1963) to the hybrid but it still shows as Registered: No and calling does not work.

Anything else I need to configure/setup?

thx a lot

Users / stream desktop audio to lmce
« on: January 22, 2013, 09:33:00 am »
Is there an easy (lmce) way to stream the same audio output on my desktop (ubuntu) to linuxmce so I can play that on md's (in sync preferably)

Users / mysql performance
« on: January 19, 2013, 09:08:18 am »
When I select Video or Audio in an orbiter it takes very long for the results to show (more then 10 seconds) and then scrolling through the results is also very slow. Is this normal behavior, am I missing some optimizations, should one manually create indexes or is there something else I can do to improve this?

Installation issues / dhcp not working properly?
« on: January 19, 2013, 09:01:20 am »
I would like to use DHCP to get a IP address from my ISP since unfortunately I cannot get a fixed IP address. However when I turn on dhcp (Advanced > Network > Network settings > 1. External network card eth0, IP4: DHCP) I get as the first nameserver (Nameserver #1:)  which stops dns to function properly. LMCE also passes the on to the clients connected so they also get a faulty dns configuration. In trac it is set as a 'feature request' ( ) but shouldnt dhcp not be able to break lmce since its such a basic requirement?

Installation issues / cannot get AVWizzard on hybrid on 1004
« on: February 20, 2012, 11:34:38 pm »

I am trying to get the AVWizard to config my hybrid running 1004 and a GT 520 (I tried on a ION with same results). I updated to the latest current nvidia drivers but when I reboot with the AVWizzard I get a 'Failed to setup X'. When I copy the xorg.conf.pluto.avwizard  to xorg.conf, comment out the connected monitor:
Code: [Select]
#       Option          "ConnectedMonitor" "CRT"
and change the resolution:
Code: [Select]
       SubSection "Display"
                Modes           "1920x1080"
                Virtual         1920 1080
and then reboot I get X properly.

Anyone a suggestion on how to get the AVWizzard to also start properly? I tried changing some stuff in the AVWizzard scripts but up till now no success. Any help appreciated!

Users / X not working after upgrade
« on: October 14, 2011, 12:49:40 pm »
It might be a coincidence that X was not comming up after the last dist-upgrade I did on 1004 cause I also added some hardware recently but I thought I'd post it here in case someone else has the same issue. I got a warning in Xorg that nvidia failed to initialize the graphics device in /var/log/Xorg.0.log
Code: [Select]
(EE) Oct 14 07:08:42 NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:3:0:0.  Please
(EE) Oct 14 07:08:42 NVIDIA(0):     check your system's kernel log for additional error

Eventually I created a custom boot entry for grub in /etc/grub.d/40_custom by adding to the end of the linux line the option (just copy the existing one from /boot/grub/grub.cfg):
Code: [Select]
then running update-grub and checking in the file /boot/grub/grub.cfg which entry number the new entry and adding that number to /etc/default/grub as the GRUB_DEFAULT (I also set the GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=2 and GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET=false)

then ran another update-grub and rebooted and I got X again.
