Any progress with template?

I'm looking really hard and can't find better webcam for this price (60-70$). And also found some great resources for Foscam webcams:

Pine Trail or Oak Trail system bus design, that is

(1) thinner
(2) less power consumption
(3) can actually do video output and run PadOrbiter V2 quite nicely. (i.e. with a Broadcom Crystal HD coprocessor)

Not sure what you are comparing this system with, if anybody knows please share some links to that other hardware.

I am always receptive to lending a helping hand if I am of the capability of doing so... But I'm not sure as to what I could actually offer... I could disclose the documentation and methods that I used but as I have no knowledge of MCE's internal structure and handling... I am still getting myself familiar with all of MCE's installation, customization, documentation, and full capabilities.. I could not really contribute to the project on a first hand basis.  I as well have not ever added to a wiki page and would have to ask for advise as to how I should lay it out so that it did not just seem like useless babel.  I have seen that a lot all over the net. UGGH!!

Even though I made this post as more of a question to the real professionals of MCE I would be glad to share what I have found on these panels.. Just need some guidance.

Just start editing a wiki page, write any "useless babel", as you say, and I'll help you format it and add appropriate categories to new wiki page. Once you start writing you will pick up wiki formatting really quickly. When you see some page from which you would like to copy formatting just hit edit and look at the tags and formatitig that previous editor(s) used to make page pretty and copy that.

It is really easy.

Just start a new page any send link to it in this thread so we can help you further.

Nice to hear from new people. John just go for it, I put in quite a few hours into wiki and labeling, organizing and connecting some of pages and topics. Wiki has some great content that is just not exposed, some duplicate and triplicate info all over the place and some topics are just not covered.

For last few months I had other project on my plate (www.fusionlinux.org which I started) but now I returned to my linuxmce, smart home project and this wiki. I hope that we also attract some other people (new but also senior members) and make wiki more useful for all of us.

I'm looking where to buy Global Cache devices in Europe. I checked their official distributor list:

But these lists are often out of date and most "distributors" have stopped selling their products and don't list them anywhere on their page

If you have bought Global Cache devices please say where from did you order them. I would prefer EU located show because of customs.

I'm looking to buy Global Cache iTach IP2IR device which is better that GC-100 device that is usually suggested.

I got suggestion to buy GC iTach IP2IR over GC 100. I'm ordering them now so will let you all know how they work. If anybody has some experience with iTach line of products please share your experience.

There are quite a few excellent wiki user pages [1] on our wiki. There are also new users who are staring to build their wiki page and they need our help.
For example Heinola [2] just started his page, everybody who is starting something needs a bit help. There are also other users who also need help to make their wiki pages shine so go out there and find them.

Also there are quite a few of you that still haven't created your wiki page, why wait? Go on and start your own.

Feel free to look at mine wiki page [3] and if you have any comments how can I make mine better, easily readable, better organized, just say so.

As usual, good point. I guess my larger point was that we dont need topics on the progress of other projects every week.

As far as upnp, is this fuctionality in the svn? The reason I ask is because   while ican get mediatomb to play dvds and remux high def content instead of transcoding, im really hitting the limit of what it can do in a linuxmce context and am playing with coherence which seems to be a better framework. Guess the question is would I be duplicating things or no?

Sorry that I have upset you, but if you look through my posts you will probably see that I haven't been posting about XBMC or any other projects that are related since last XBMC discussion which was who knows how many months ago.

I only post things that I believe are useful to XBMC users (hence posting on users board), you reaction was like I was posting in developers board suggesting that xbmc is better or in any way comparing xbmc and linuxmce which I am not.

I would use xbmc and linuxmce both in my home.

I would like to setup one camera, I prefer to have UTP cable to in instead of using wifi and needs to be as cheap as possible. It will be used only in one demo not for long time use.

I still can't get this switch to work. Does anybody have some similar battery operated switch and got it working?

One question I would ask you is this:
What do you have more, free time or money? Depending on your answer there are obviously different answers.

If you have more free time then invest that time to get some of gear you want to install in your house RIGHT NOW, and build one PC as LinuxMCE Hybrid.

If you don't gave year or so to learn everything you need to know about LinuxMCE then get somebody (pay them) of more experienced LinuxMCE people who is near you to help you build your system, or order pre build Dianemo systems (http://www.dianemo.co.uk/)
