Hi, I tested ATI Radeon 9600 but have no luck with it because. I installed latest fglrx drivers and LinuxMCE UI still doesn't work with it (except the simple UI). When testing video capabilities of video card with this guide: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Graphics_TestMasking works but when I try compositing video testing app just crashes. I made new wiki entry: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/ATI_Radeon-9600-AGPIs there a hope of getting this video card working with UI2? Chould I report a bug? Troubleshoot some more (how)? Give up? Is there any hope this card will work better in new LinuxMCE 0810? Any tips/tricks appreciated.

Hi guys, I'm also looking at testing the new LinuxMCE so I would like to ask you who are doing it now to please update the wiki with some tips&tricks (it needed) so that the rest of us can also give it a shot and skip over any caveats.
Cheers, Valent.

LinuxMCE / Users / Re: core drops ssh, ping and webmin connections! why?

I found it myself 10 minutes after posting the question I know the security issue, but I'm behind a NAT and openning the firewall posts no security issue for me. But I was puzzled why when I flushed manually iptables rules the firewall still functioned! How is that possible?

LinuxMCE / Users / core drops ssh, ping and webmin connections! why?

Hi, I need to connect via ssh to my core but I cant. I tried pinging it and I get no reply. I have ktorrent running with web interface and can only connect it from core not from other laptop in my LAN. Why?
Core has two LAN cards; eth0 - 10.10.1.1/24 that has nothing connected to it and has DHCP service ready to assing IP adreses eth1 - 192.168.5.5 - the IP it how automatically from ADSL modem/router that it is connected to.
I have other laptop (192.168.5.7) connected to same ADSL router but over over wireless.
When I ping laptop from core I get the response, when I ping core from the laptop I get no response.
I start ssh on core and on the laptop, and I can connect from core to laptop but I can't connect from laptop to core.
I tried deleting all iptables firewall rules with: iptables --flush iptables --table nat --flush iptables --delete-chain iptables --table nat --delete-chain
but I still can't ping or connect via ssh to core from my local LAN.
How can I fix this?
Cheers, Valent.

Set it up from the mythtv-setup in the computing screen.
I installed mythtv package, it looks like it was missing. Now I have mythtv-setup so I'll play around with that. Valent.

I don't get this tutorial (and I'm not a newbie), what are you supposed to do after you get WM_CLASS property. This wiki page seams unfinished and unclear. I got that WM_CLASS property but where do I enter it?

Hi Valent, The failure on deb.linuxmce.com is normal dont worry about it. Ctrl + Alt + F2 (or other Fn keys) will open a Term session for you... just enter your password and then use sudo as normal etc. look here for info on support for your DVB card under Linux; http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-T_DevicesAll the best Andrew Thank you Andrew. I know about VT1-6 but I'm asking if there is a way to start konsole or xterm from LinuxMCE gui somehow? I don't see my gigabyte card nowhere on linuxtv.org but as soon as I get it working I'll update their wiki pages. Cheers, Valent.

Set it up from the mythtv-setup in the computing screen.
Hi Zaerc, thank you for your answer. Sorry for being too vague, I'll try to explain all the details. I roamed the forums and I saw suggestions of using mythtv-setup but to my surprise I from terminal I didn't find any myth execfiles. I tied typing "my" and then hitting TAB key to get all the mythtv exec files but I got none! I also tried with "sudo my" and "sudo myth" +TAB and also nothing. Then I thought that maybe during the instal I failed somehow to install mythtv component. That is why I tried to check this with "apt-get update" and then "apt-get install mythtv" But I also got stuck emediatly with apt-get update showing me errors... How can I check that I have installed all necessary mythtv files? Sorry for this lame question but I primarily use fedora and don't know the apt-get way of things so much Cheers, Valent.
