Motion detectors are in stock now, Door/Window detectors will be in stock from Monday, place your orders now and get them shipped Tuesday:

SP103 PIR Motion Detector - £38.99 - http://www.techstyleuk.co.uk/index_files/sp103.htm
SM103 Door/Window Detector - £34.99 - http://www.techstyleuk.co.uk/index_files/sm103.htm

Unfortunately the prices have increased from what was originally published, this is because of the changes in exchange rates and shipping/banking costs.

They both have the online box checked but are both still working since the reboot this morning

I will let you know when the first one disapears

colin,

Thanks for the reply

Media stored on my hitachi (sdb1) and WD (hdb1) drives disapears form the video or audio lists after a period of time.  the drives are connected to the core motherboard in the same way as the Samsung drive that contains most of the media and the OS.

In webadmin --> files and media --> media files sync  I can access the WD drive but it has no files on it.  when I try to resync it says the drive is offline

where is the 'online' checkbox you are talking about?

605  LinuxMCE / Users / Missing Hard Drives - Drives come and go on: November 02, 2008, 01:24:08 pm
I have three drives installed in my core:

Samsung SATAII 1Tb drive (which has th OS on it)
Hitachi SATAII 450Gb drive (NTFS)
WD IDE drive 200Gb (Linux)

after the core is up all three drives are available.  within the first day the NTFS drive (or any media on it) ceases to be available and when you look in Dolphin it apears to be unmounted.

I thought this was due to it being NTFS and was going to reformat but this morning (the core has been up for over a week) media from the WD Linux drive was missing.  when I looked in dolphin it apears to be mounted, I could access it and all media was there.  I ran a 'resychronise' in web admin and it said the device was offline.

When I reload there is nochange, when I reboot the drives are back

Can anybody help me and suggest a reason/solution to this?

Sorry for the delay we were going to get them in starting a couple of weeks ago but then were hit by the sudden change in USD - GBP exchange rate whcih would mean an increase in price.  so we waited to see if there would be a stabilisation.

Now I am hoping we will have them in about 4 Weeks

I can play audio, video, and .dvd files simultaneously on my core/md and an MD.  audio files take a few seconds to syncronize

I am using old equipment I have lying around also.  My core is new'ish but the MD is old Athlon XP 2600+ with 768 Mb RAM and an old AGP Elsa Eradicator Graphics Card.
608  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: LG 32LC7D setup issues on: October 17, 2008, 12:44:04 pm
I have the LG RZ-37LZ55 which is very similar to all the other models but I cannot get it to work or respond in any way.  the COM port does work because I have a CM11A that I swapped out of this port that worked.

I have tried all the stuff suggested.  next step is to make sure they gave me a cross over cable and not a straight through cable.

The point I was trying to make was that for the internal LAN where you might want to stream multiple audio/video streams to multiple MD's will be better off with the 125 MB/s Gbit LAN rather than the 12.5MB/s 100bit LAN but the 100 bit LAN is adequate for most peoples internet gateway

I use the integrated 10/100 LAN from my mboard for the External LAN eth0 (thinking it is going to be a long time before my internet access speed is as high as 100 Mbit/sec) and then a PCI 1Gbit LAN card for the internal LAN eth1

Hari,

Great news!!!

Having seen/touched the products would you still buy them at the prices talked about?

I am not sure what I would need to do to get the latest svn revision or what SIS mode is?

Andrew,

I will wait for your appraisal before placeing an order for more pieces

If I get a good response from Andrew as well I will create a WIKI page for both products but as you can see from my earlier questions I may need some help on the technical (installation) side.

612  LinuxMCE / Compatible Products & Services / Re: IR Help *please* Which IR transceiver to get? Supported IR Hardware? on: September 12, 2008, 01:19:09 am
Andrew,

I have a MCE remote with blaster add on bits and have been trying to get it working to control my reciever.  It will not automatically control my reciever.  if I go to 'resend AV codes' and 'advanced' then select the 'vol up' for instance it will control my vol (blaster light fashes).  however, if I use the onscreen orbiter and in ambiance mode turn up the vol nothing happens.

Rodercot tells me this is normal, see http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=6074.msg36819#msg36819 do you have experiences to the contrary? if so, what am I doing wrong because I am about to go buy a $60 USB UIRT.  It would be great if a £13.00 MCE remote could do it.

As well as the forum, the wiki is also a good source of info.

Hari has covered most of them from the WIKI.  I use one of these:

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/XDAIIi

I found this very easy to set up. I had only been using the system and Linux a few hours when I added it.
