I have the same problem with snapshot 23227, it used to work just fine. The files is on a NAS i have not had any problems with them before.

Not that this helps anything but it clarifies that the problem is not unique to b4rney.

Edit:

My guess is that niz changes to:

Media_Plugin_Grids.cpp or MediaAttributes_LowLevel.cpp is the cause. I have not had the chance to test it out.

Installation issues / Re: Starting Core Only - LinuxMCE 810-Alpha2.36
« on: October 01, 2009, 08:08:13 am »
Hi Charles,

There are to ways to do this:

1: If you have your system up and running (and up to date) you edit your /etc/pluto.conf file and set autostartmedia = 0

2: If you are going to install a new system edit mce_wizard_data-(single/double)_nic.sh and set c_deviceType=1 (1=Core, 2=Hybrid, 3=DiskedMD)

Also if you read the release notes from 2.36 under pluto-boot-scripts (234) it states:

Quote
- Do not start X, if AutostartMedia in pluto.conf is not 1

I would go for the first solution it seems that if you are running mythtv the backend does not get installed plus you might want to run mythsetup.

I had similar issues with VDR.

Are you using a single nic? If so try to do  a reinstall if you want to try this out:

DO NOT USE DHCP for you internet connection!

I have had the same symptoms as you, havnt done a reinstall yet, looks like something goes wrong when the system is setting up your internet access and does not handle DHCP correctly. My guess is that at some point it did not work properly in the install and hence you are missing some packages or some missing configurations due to these errors ...

just my 5 cent.

Hi,

So is this a 'POC' or to make the orbiter more lightweight on "small" devices, small arm boards etc etc..?

I then tried my Asus Pundit with a Nic that was usupported in 7.10 and a ATI integrated x1200 or something.
That one is also AMD 64bit.
After a while the core MD asked for a Quick reload and the AV Wizard came up on the MD.
No drivers, no reboot, no xorg setup, pure fun :)
And a full regen of all orbiters

GREAT WORK!

Cirion, do you use UI2 and does the photoscreen saver work?

Hi Possy,

Great work, I just saw this thread now, I might be going blind? I took a quick look at the source and it looks promising I will try it out when I get my 0810 core running. I currently use my ipod as a remote for PLEX/Seven (XBMC for mac) every day and I can't imagine using LMCE without it.

All the best, and again thanks for the contribution.

I really don't have an idea. Are your mouse/keyboard wireless?

I had a similar problem with my gyration remote, I used the bundled USB cable to get the receiver away from the computer that helped.

Powerbits, if you want that screen crack removed try disabling UI2 alphablend and go with UI2 overlay!

Hi Viking,

The W (Wireless (?)) model is z-wave enabled the other one is just programmable.

Btw. I read that the setback method was the only economical way to do it, it would be too expensive to lower the temperature beblow 2-3 degree C and then later heat it up again.

You could also look into remotely controlling your mixing Shunt, that would work but set the same temperature in the whole house.
