I have 2 voip phones connnected to my 8.10 installation.  One is a 7970 and the other phone is connected to an SPA-2000.  Both phone work for incoming and outgoing calls through a Broadvoice BYOD account.  But, after some time, both will become un-registered.  I get the message "The device you are using is not registered...".  If I reboot, or wait some more time, it may come back to life.  I can always make calls between the 2 phones.

Perhaps I am not allowed to have 2 registered devices with my basic Broadvoice account?  Do I need to pay more to have multiple phones even if ony one is ever being used at one time?

Thanks for any help.

Users / Need final word on USB-UIRT in 810
« on: January 03, 2010, 11:53:53 pm »
Ok, sorry for my asking again.

Can someone give me the final word on whether the USB-UIRT works in 810?  I feel like I am at the end of my rope.  Had all the hopes that 810 would be different.  But, alas, I still get the same result.  My USB-UIRT transceiver (Protocol Ver. 1.1, Firmware Ver. 5.9, Date: 3/26/04) refuses to have anything to do with my Sony projection TV or Sony receiver.  All I need to have it do is to turn off/on both units and change volume and inputs.  I can't get any of it to work.  I can, however; get the USB-UIRT to work great with a Windows program called EventGhost.  If I take the exact codes that work with EventGhost and sub them into Linuxmce, I get a brief flash from the unit, but the TV and amp do not respond.

If anyone is interested, here are some of the codes I am trying to use:
Power On (Amp): 0000 0067 0000 0010 0060 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 037c
Power On (TV): 0000 0066 0000 000D 0060 0019 0018 0019 0030 0019 0030 0019 0030 0019 0018 0019 0030 0019 0018 0019 0030 0019 0018 0019 0018 0019 0018 0019 0018 03F7
DVD input (AMP): 0000 0068 0000 0010 0060 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0315

What I can tell you is that I see a difference in the transmission pulse; it is longer with EventGhost -- it's about 2x as long as the pulse from LMCE.  Does this mean anything to anyone?

If I am beating a dead horse, please say so.  If there is another avenue to control my devices that don't have serial ports, please speak up.  I can get everything else working , but this piece.

Help.

Installation issues / IR problems with 8.10 BETA. Grrrr.
« on: October 27, 2009, 08:25:22 pm »
Ok, I know I must be doing something wrong.  From 7.10 to 8.10 Beta, I have not ever managed to consistantly had IR working for more that a brief time.  I have tried a USB-UIRT and a GC-100.

Let's start with the USB-UIRT.  How simple, just plug it in and poof it's available!  If I use an exiting Sony TV template, I can manage to get it to transmit something (lovely blinking light).  But, I cannot seem to get it to do more than correctly send a channel change command.  I know what you are thinking, perhaps I am using the wrong set of Pronto codes.  Nope.  If I plug int that very same USB-UIRT into my laptop and use a program called EventGhost, I can get the Sony TV and Sony receiver to dance a jig with the very same Pronto codes!    What is the difference?

In my frustration, I tried my old GC-100.  Plug it in and voila, LMCE sees it enought to install software for it.  Buuuuut!  I see no individual IR out interfaces like I did in 7.10 so no warm fuzzy.  I tried sending codes after making my Sony TV template use the GC-100, but not a single blinky blinky on the GC itself or at the emitter end.

Please slap me.  Ask me for more details (I am at work at the moment).

All I need to be a happy person again is the ability to turn on/off my TV and receiver... :'(

Users / Selecting a video brings up NO SIGNAL screen
« on: December 20, 2008, 02:46:07 am »
Ok, I don't know what I did, but I must have turned on VDR/MythTV.  Everytime I select a movie, a remote is displayed on my DT366 webpad and my monitor flashes "NO SIGNAL".  I cannot even leave the remote on my DT366 oribiter.

The remote has 4 color buttons (Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue), a keypad, a record button, a schedule button, etc.

Hopefully, I am one click away from returning to normal.

Anyone seen this?

Grrr.

I had this problem before.  If I set the Controlled by setting of any A/V template to my GC-100 and restart LMCE, the A/V template disappears.  The GC-100 serial port works fine for my Insteon PLM, but none of the IR outputs work anymore either.

Does anyone know which logs might help me troubleshoot this problem?  Or can I simply delete the GC-100 config and recreate it (hopefully without having to redo the Insteon PLM template)?

Any help would be appreciated.

Users / How to setup Insteon PLM to use GC100 serial port
« on: August 28, 2008, 09:34:26 pm »
I am sure this is probably a simple question, but I have completed the Insteon PLM configuration all except the COM Port setting.

I have no serial port on the current core, but I do have a GC100 with a serial port.

How do I get the Insteon PLM setup to use the GC100 serial port?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Users / DVD drive not available
« on: August 10, 2008, 08:42:44 am »
Hello folks.
This is probably a simple issue, but all of a sudden I am not able to rip or play DVDS.  I was in the middle of ripping Madagascar when it came up with errors at 36% thruough.  I poped out the disk and inserted another DVD that I have been able to rip before, but the Cancel Rip icon is showing in the Manage Drives screen.  Clicking on it does nothing.  Clicking on Play brings up a message "I cannoth play this media.  Perhaps there is not a valid device in this entertainment area capable of playing it.  Drive is not available".

I have powered off and on the core (that's where the drive is), but it didn't fix it.

I went to Admin, Ripping Status and it showed that Madagascar was stuck at 36%.  Not knowing the correct way to clear things up, I purged all 10 items but that didn't help either (I guess purging only removes the status messages?).

Any help would be appreciated.

I know, what a noob...

Users / A/V Equipment disappear in 7.10RC1
« on: April 30, 2008, 05:06:44 am »
Anyone have the problem of disappearing a/v equipment setups?

It has happened twice.  All the other device type stick around (interfaces, core, MDs).

It seems to happen after I setup the IR codes for my Sony reciever and tv.  I am also using a GC-100 to control both.

Any advice on what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Users / GC100 IR transmits but TV does nothing
« on: April 01, 2008, 06:54:25 am »
Using the same Pronto codes that work with my USB UIRT from a PC, I cannot get my new GC100 to power on or off my Sony tv or receiver.

I see the GC100 blink as the code is sent.

Is there something in Linux MCE that needs modifying?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated
