Hi all, after a long running problem, http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=9654.0 with myth/xmltv, I came across these two progs, which seem to provide a better solution for the whole XMLTV /guide data side of mythtv. The added bonus is that Bill Gates has given me (unkowingly) a working myth installation ,getting dvb and sky UK digital programs and full listings !!!!with minimal setup... hey if I can do it , anybody can . http://mc2xml.110mb.com/ .....................instructions & d/load http://www.syzygy.eclipse.co.uk............d/load......instructions in readme.txt & at http://wiki.flexion.org/MythTV.html at bottom of page ......caveat according to m/softs TOS you should be a windows user to access the data, .....I am (just not on that machine) wiki to follow if no objections....mods ? EDIT why can't one report ones own post to mods ? regards, Ian EDIT done http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Mythautoicon http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Mc2xmlwill polish and categorise when I've learned how to ....unless there are any volunteers

Hi all (again) after numerous reinstalls, I'm still having the same problem, so, as no-one else seems to have encountered this I can only conclude that either: 1)............it's peculiar to my hardware....unlikely as it's all common stuff OR (and much more likely) 2) .............it's down to RBFS,.......Repetitive Brain Fart Syndrome Soooooo......I've given up on xmltv,.......but not on myth, as I've (hopefully ) found a better alternative, http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=9683.0regards, Ian

Hi purps, thanks for response....yes there is no problem with the dvb -t side of things, channels scan and display correctly, and the epg is ok. The problem is that I'm trying to get an s-video output (from a sky sattelite box with an external channel changer) into Myth via the pvr150, so xmltv is a must,as there is no eit data because the input is analogue.
...and the real problem is that myth-setup, from computing menu, tries to load xml configuration, fails and defaults to schedules direct, which doesn't cover the UK.
I've tried fresh installs, of lmce, and the problem is constant, which leads me to think that I'm missing something very obvious, especially as no-one else seems to have the same problem, any pointers would be appreciated, regards, Ian

Hi all, clean install, updated, upgraded, and gone to myth setup in computing. Location is UK and timezone info in web admin is ok. No problem setting up dvb-t usb dual tuner & all works fine. Trying to setup my hauppauge 150 to capture from sky+ box via s-video,... I've followed the wiki instructions http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/MythTV%2C_xmltv_and_channels and http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Uk_xmltv"General" settings are all default except broadcast standard is europe -west, PAL-I, pal-teletext and timezone set to auto. I've setup a video source for my pvr150 (setup in webadmin) as RadioTimes , and myth-setup tries to load xmltv configuration, fails, and defaults back to schedules direct tv_grab_uk_rt is present in /usr/bin and produces a config file in .xmltv .... trying to copy this to home/house(user)/.mythtv errors out, as .mythtv doesn't exist,... creating the directory and copying the file over to /home/house/.mythtv/RadioTimes.xmltv, then running mythfilldatabase --manual errors out as " failing to connect to schedules direct"... ...returning to computing/myth setup still gives no option of any other grabber than schedules direct. SOoooo, can anyone spot the error I'm obviously making ? any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance, Ian

Hi Kezza
....Computing, web admin, login, wizard, devices, media directors.....add your t500 as PVR500 tuner1&2 ,update, quick reload router. Goto ... computing, myth setup, tuner cards... and it should be there....(use arrow keys to navigate in myth) if not goto a command line and ... lsusb.......it should be listed

LinuxMCE / Users / Re: 0810 avwizard woes(SOLVED)

hi all, it would appear that during boot, the nvidia card ( & also the ION I'm now using ) is outputting @50hz, untill driver kicks in , then @60 hz(vesa standard)
the tv, Sharp Acqous LC**X20E/S will only accept 50Hz on inputs 4 & 5, and only 60Hz on input 6
the avwizard option of 1080p @50Hz does not appear to work. (bug ?)
after a lot of head scratching.......
SOLUTION
when rebooting for AV-wizard, connect a vga cable to input 7 of tv ,press shift key as normal, -select dvi/hdmi....1080p...60hz DO NOT PRESS ENTER.....change tv input to hdmi 6, wait untill notification from tv of input change disappears.....NOW press ENTER
the delay is so the av wizard doesn't time out and reset while changing inputs (which is somewhat slow).......complete avwizard as normal.......
@ KYFALCON can only suggest a tv input problem as above
regards Ian
