Tim,
It is a clean installation I did not touch the DB.
its possible that during installation the system tries to download something from a repository that is broken or inaccessible?
where to look for some logs tho see what could be happening? I'm not a Linux expert but I know my way around.

I'm clueless.
I do not know where to start to troubleshoot this.
Searched wiki searched forum no similar problem.
It seems that it is related with the sqlCVS?
could I start here. how do I rebuild it?

Hi all,
I get a new tv sharp aquos with rs232c port try to connect it to my core/hybrid and it was not autodetected so I try to add it manually, but first I need to edit the A/V Properties of the template as posted on wiki  http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Alx9r%27s_Aquos_TV_Setup follow steps listed there but, when I try Edit Audio/Video Properties. I have an error telling

    ERROR!
Cannot retrieve IR codes.

I'm Running a new installation, Unfortunately I don't have the old installation any more, to compare, but I found out that if I try to add an other av equipment it do the same thing, same error Cannot retrieve IR codes, bellow this it is a retry link when I click on it it give me an other error in the same frame saying "Device template # 0 was not found". I'm using LMCE 7.10 RC2 I386 I also tried the AMD64 same results.

thank you for any help you can give me on this.

what kind of switch are you using?
Did you link at least one device to the PLM?
Are the PLM and the devices on the same phase of your electrical circuit?

I'm using PLM 2412S and 3 insteon wall switches.

in one of my attempts I had a similar problem.
First I had no linked the plm and the devises. Non of the switches were recognized by the system.
Later when I link them (push the set button on the plm for 10 sec, led should blink, then push the top switch button until the PLM stop blinking) they were recognized by the system but every time I restart the router they disappear. The problem is that the first time the driver boots it looks for devices on the internal plm data base, when it boots again it tries to find the devises by ping them or something similar to a ping, if they are not found it tries to delete them from the data base. In my case I think it was caused by the poor communication between the PLM and the devises I solved by changing the electrical outlet that I was using (had to use a extension cord to put it as far as possible from the computer)
Once I chage the plm outlet the

hope this helps you.
Let me know if you have any questions.

I Don't know if it is to late to post here. hope is not and some one with  more experience that I, could give me a hand on this issue

My configuration first

Linux MCE 7.10 RC2 AMD 64
PLM 2412S (Tried different ways of connecting , GC100, USB - Serial Adapter, Installed Serial PCI card)
2 wall Switches

Follow up the RC1 Insteon Support on wiki
The set up went easy no issues there, the driver starts fine( I think).
It detects the switches creates the config
The problem start when I try to send a command (on or off) from the web admin or the orbiter to one of the devices, nothings happens When I look at the logs as suggested here

 *  in the TOP RIGHT, click 'FOLLOW LOG'

This will pop up a new window with the log processing in real time. When you quick reload the router, I'd recommend pressing F5 on the Log window to clear out the old history. During the initialization of the GSD, it shows all the code (over 2000 lines) before it actually 'starts' (hence the refresh)
.
I see this

Code: [Select]
05 09/04/08 22:48:34.264 GSDMessageTranslator isCmdImplemented = false <0x42003950>
05 09/04/08 22:48:34.271 #### Pre-Process Queue = 1 <0x42003950>
05 09/04/08 22:48:34.279 _QueueProc Pre - 192 : 0 <0x40800950>
05 09/04/08 22:48:34.280 GSD-Sleep Pre 192 : 0 <0x40800950>
05 09/04/08 22:48:34.280 Process Queue = 1 <0x40800950>
05 09/04/08 22:48:34.283 GSD-Sleep Post 192 : 0 <0x40800950>
05 09/04/08 22:48:34.283 _QueueProc Post - 192 : 0 <0x40800950>
should I see the command going out?
I test the devices with a linux tool plmtools-0.0.3-r1 downloaded here:http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=217379 in the same computer
And it worked fine it sends the commands and receive the reply from the devices.

I'm really stuck here. Please if some one of the big guys can give me a hand here I'll appreciated.

Thanks

Cesar

williammanda,
Did you have any luck in sending commands out?
I'm having a similar problem as far I can see.

I followed the wiki. exactly as you mentioned.
then quick reload  like 3 times until all devices where detected and when I try to send an on or off command from the web admin nothing happens.
in the log only shows this: (at the exact moment that I send the command)
On command :
05   09/04/08 15:43:19.343      GSDMessageTranslator isCmdImplemented = false <0x42003950>
05   09/04/08 15:43:19.345      #### Pre-Process Queue = 1 <0x42003950>
05   09/04/08 15:43:19.358      _QueueProc Pre - 192 : 0 <0x40800950>
05   09/04/08 15:43:19.358      GSD-Sleep Pre 192 : 0 <0x40800950>
05   09/04/08 15:43:19.358      Process Queue = 1 <0x40800950>
05   09/04/08 15:43:19.498      GSD-Sleep Post 192 : 0 <0x40800950>
05   09/04/08 15:43:19.498      _QueueProc Post - 192 : 0 <0x40800950>
Off command :

05   09/04/08 15:43:37.816      GSDMessageTranslator isCmdImplemented = false <0x42003950>
05   09/04/08 15:43:37.820      #### Pre-Process Queue = 1 <0x42003950>
05   09/04/08 15:43:37.829      _QueueProc Pre - 193 : 0 <0x40800950>
05   09/04/08 15:43:37.829      GSD-Sleep Pre 193 : 0 <0x40800950>
05   09/04/08 15:43:37.829      Process Queue = 1 <0x40800950>
05   09/04/08 15:43:37.929      GSD-Sleep Post 193 : 0 <0x40800950>
05   09/04/08 15:43:37.929      _QueueProc Post - 193 : 0 <0x40800950>

My configuration is like this

PLM 2412s (connected to USB - Serial Adapter, I also tried connecting to a GC100 serial port)
2 switches (one 2876SB the other 2476S)
LMCE 7.10 RC2 AMD 64
Followed ddamron How to at http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Insteon_-_Setting_Up_PLM_Template
I tested the PLM and switches with a win program and they worked

If some one can give us some hints I'll appreciate it.

Thanks

Cesar

Welcome to the comunity sdgenxr,
To log in to the LinuxMCE Admin, basically you have to use the name that you give on the wizard for one of the user(I think the first one you entered). usually the user and pass are the same
example
if you use
as name
sdgenxr

the user will be sdgenxr and the pass sdgenxr
I don't know what will happened if you use a name and last name like jhon smith.

Just in case probably you already know you have to go to http://192.168.80.1/ (this is the default url for admin)

unfortunately, your second concern is related with the admin site, some times not all media is recognized by the system (at least in my case)  I had to go to the admin Files & Media | Media Files Sync and look for the drive that my media was located(on the left side other - name of your HD) and then synchronize. When you get there you'll see it is very straightforward. I do not know how NTFS get along with LMCE.

do not worry about the trouble that it seem at the beginning... it will continue for a long time. :)

good luck!
