Hi bulek,

Thanks a lot for you reply, it seams that you make some work here I remember following your wiki and post a time a go and it wasn't near as is now.
It is a little bet confusing for me now because I can't play with the Ruby codes of both devices (onkio and Marratz), I had to reinstall my system last week and I don't have any of my RS232 Devices working properly because of this issue with the main data base, I'm a little bet lazy to start writing all the controls by my self.
Anyway this is a great start for what I want to accomplish. As soon as I put my hands back on the Onkyo template I'll start modification on it to support multizone or at least I try.

Thanks again.

Cesar

I'm thinking on doing a similar set up.
I'm in a stage of gathering some info now.
What kind of sound cards are you using?
I have a onkyo reciver that also has multizone capabilities.

Device Templates

I know have a functional multiroom setup. :) The solution was to split the original RX-V1x00 template into three different templates, because the original template missed the possibility to connect the squeezebox within the connection wizard. So I setuped three different templates for each Zone the Receiver has. Each template is a standard GSD device, containing the Ruby codes for its own zone.

    * Template RX-V1700 (Mainzone) controlling the Mainzone
    * Template RX-V1700 (Zone 2) controlling Zone #2 located in a different room
    * Template RX-V1700 (Zone 3) controlling Zone #3 located in a different room

How did you split the Device template.
Did you create a new device template for each zone? and use the regular template for the main zone?
or
you use the same one three times?

How did you handle the same "COM Port on PC"? for the three

It's possible for you to post your GSD device Ruby codes, the device template data base is broken now and I cannot retrieve the GSD from the database. To start looking at some code.

Thanks.
Cesar

Hi Andrew,
Thank you very much for you reply. I hate to be bother, I know how hard this guys are working on the new release and other stuff that in the long run will benefit all of us.
I'm not the kind of guy that whats somebody to solve My issues. I just want to know more abut this to try to troubleshoot, that eventually will also benefit all of us. (please feel free to correct me if I'm getting this wrong and the problem is just mine)
As I told before I'm not a linux or programmer expert but I know my way around. I Asked several questions before and had no answer  that's why I keep trying. I can understand what the script (/usr/pluto/bin/WebDB_GetIR.sh) does and why it doesn't do what is suppose to do, but I just not have the means to solve it. Meanwhile it is fun because I learning a lot of how the system works that other way, if every thing worked out of the box, I would not be able.
Please do not take this as an angry discharge. I'm Just trying to know this community until we can fix this.

Thanks.
Cesar

Hari,
I'm still unavailable to retrieve  GSD or IR codes for my AV devices.
Did you had a chance to look at it?
Again if there is something I can assist in this, let me know.
Thanks.

nosebreaker,
I recently install a Bluecherry PV-981 - 8 port video PCIe version and After some pain (not Much) they work fine, I'm still have to configure somethings. But I had no drivers issues.
I followed this Wiki http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Analog_cameras
Good Luck

Hari,
I sorry what I meant with service was something to fix on the linuxmce.org site, where the codes are fetched from, or something on the local script it self. if this last is the case is there some parameters o values that I have to change? or is a complete rewrite of the script?
I ask this again is something I can do to help. I think this is a very important feature of the system and is affecting all users that wants to add new devises. Is there is a walkaround for this problem?

thank you for your great job
Cesar

How do you install cd or dvd
I only use dvd one of the first promps on installation was the root password
If you do not remenber that you should google how to reset root.
How do you connect to the console by ssh or direct to the kubuntu desktop
The default username for root is linuxmce and the password you use in installation
Good luck

An other update on this problem
I decided to take a look at the InfraredGroup_Command table on the pluto_main database. It is empty. Is this normal? from where can I download a sql file to import locally? It is possible to do this?

Thanks in advance

Serching the wiki I found that, as I though, the the device template's infrared or Ruby codes are fetched from the linuxmce.org website
with this script
Quote
/usr/pluto/bin/WebDB_GetIR.sh [deviceID] [deviceTemplateID] [restriction flag]
I ran this scripts on linux shell and it response
Code: [Select]
linuxmce@dcerouter:/usr/pluto/bin$ /usr/pluto/bin/WebDB_GetIR.sh 1856
ERROR. Empty result
linuxmce@dcerouter:/usr/pluto/bin$
Is there an alternative url that I can use to test?
what should I see if I put the parameters of the script on a browser?
I get this

I had the same problem it appears that something is broken some where. If you only need to add DVDCSS try from the web admin Advanced -> Software -> Add software select the MD or Core and try to update from there I have to do it a couple of times before it worked.
Maybe the templates for AV devices are broken too. Could you confirm that?
good Luck
