Thanks for the quick response.

The missing close bracket has fixed the error, thank you.

I have fixed the partity error by changing from 8N1 -> N81.

Developers / Help with Ruby Code
« on: June 21, 2009, 06:35:38 am »
I am trying to create a device template for an Infocus IN74 projecter which is contolled via a serial cable.
I have adapted the Denon ruby code but it doesn't compile correctly.
There is also an error that Paritybit/Stopbit 8N1 NOT supported.

The commands to switch the device on/off are (PWR1) and (PWR0) inclusive of the brackets. Not sure if the brackets would be a problem.

Code: [Select]
1 06/21/09 14:11:02 88 (spawning-device) Starting... 1
1 06/21/09 14:11:02 88 (spawning-device) Found /usr/pluto/bin/Generic_Serial_Device

Installation issues / Re: Multiple USBUIRT's
« on: June 19, 2009, 05:07:54 am »
I can't comment on the USB-UIRT but you wouldn't need to setup 4 MD's. Check out the GC100 device, it has multiple IR ports all individually addressable.

Installation issues / Re: missing IR devices on GC100 alpha2
« on: June 18, 2009, 02:50:26 pm »
I think i got too excited when the GC100 appeared in the device tree after having done a quick reload. Tonight when I got home the IR device children were displayed correctly in the device tree and i have managed to control my amp/receiver. Yeee Haaa.

Slowly adding functionality but so far 0810 is magic.

Next task is to control Infocus projector via serial port of GC100.

I have successfully built 0710 virtualbox  VM core to be able to get windows Orbiter for an XP machine running, as 0810 orbiter download doesn't work.
I am in process of building develpoment VM for 0810 so will hopefully be able to contribute something back.

Installation issues / missing IR devices on GC100 alpha2
« on: June 16, 2009, 01:34:31 pm »
I am getting the following error in the GC100 log.

Creating child 69 <0xb78cb6c0>
05   06/16/09 20:57:25.147      Note: Device manager has attached a device of type 1980 that this has no custom event handler for.  It will not fire events. <0xb78cb6c0>

This happens for each of the IR ports and they dont show up in the device tree under the GC100. Also the serial Port looks a little defferent to what it was under 710.

I had a brief look for the scripts but got lost and couldn´t find where to fix.
Instead of doing a chmod 777 this would be more secure.

cd /etc/asterisk
chown asterisk:asterisk *
chmod o+r *

Users / Re: Missing Media

I have used the LinuxMCE folder structure for the share and all the folders were created. I then copied all the movies into the video folder. They were detected but didn't show in orbiter. If I copied a movie into the normal /home/public/data/videos folder they would show in the orbiter.

Also manually adding tags and imdb data still did not get the videos to display in the orbiter.

I have just had a similar issue and followed this guide.

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Howto:_Using_Network_Shares

When setting up the file server i needed to have the IP and MAC address entered in the fileserver  configuration page.
Then the /usr/pluto/bin/Configure_1837.sh finds all shares and will prompt what you want to do with each.

If anyone else does run into this issue of media not showing in orbiter but does get detected via UpdateMedia and is visible in web admin under Media Files Sync.

Use tool of preference to execute following mysql commands.

use pluto_media;
go;

UPDATE `File`  SET `EK_Device` = NULL;
go;

I have already done that a few times, and it definitely re-processes all of the videos.

From within web admin everything is visible and i can maintain attributes and images OK. It would be nice if there was a way of deleting them all from the database without deleting them from disk. A re-sync after that would hopefully fix it. (I will load some MYSQL tools and see if i can delete it myself)

Hi Andrew,

When I do a search they will come up.

I have installed an 8.10 core and MD and have MythTV all working OK. However my videos which are stored on a Linux server and shared out via SMB are not visible when browsing media. I have used the web admin interface and they all show up with a tick that they have been detected and i have even been able to add imdb data to them.

I know they are there because I can do a search and they will come up(and i can play them) but they don´t show in the browser.

Installation issues / Re: unable to get 1080p on 810 alpha
« on: June 09, 2009, 03:24:54 pm »
Hi Pigdog,

I had followed the alpha install instructions which now says that the nvidia driver doesn need to be install separately. I didn´t check which driver was loaded but a manual install of 185.18.14 from the Nvidia site resolved the issue.

Now have core at 1080p and UI2.

An issue i had while installing the driver was that when running ´telinit 1´ the system wouldn´t get me to a console session. I had to kill the fvwm process to do the install.

Installation issues / unable to get 1080p on 810 alpha
« on: June 09, 2009, 08:58:02 am »
I have re-installed my core with Alpha 810 and cannot get any resolution higher that 420p to display. I was previusly running 710 and had 1080p with UI1 running.

I have changed the video card (all Nvidia) but still get the same problem. All resolutions greater that 420p only show the top left quarter/eighth of the screen, so the countdown and continue/cancel buttons are not visible.

ps. have booted and configured an MD running at 1080p  UI2 with no issues from this core.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Zaerc for explaining how i had a 64bit system running, but not getting any recent updates.
Will downgrade it to 32bit to continue getting updates.

Thanks.
