Installation issues / Re: IR problems with 8.10 BETA. Grrrr.
« on: October 30, 2009, 06:19:21 pm »
As you know there are some bugs with the 810 beta that are being worked on. With that said, IR can be a bit dodgy, but you should be able to get it to work in both 710 and 810. When I had IR working I had to do the following to shutoff my tv and/or turn down the volume. Go to --> Advanced -> IR Codes -> <Your Device> -> (tv on/off, etc).

In terms of the IR learning codes, you may need to follow the directions below before attempting to learn the button codes. I'm sure this fix is already in 810, but it may not hurt to try.

Hope this helps

I have 2 PVR 150 cards that I'm not using anymore. I don't have any of the extra's like the IR Blaster or Hauppage remote, but you don't really need that with MCE. If you work out a deal, I can sell them to you. Let me know if you're interested.

Users / Hardware Compatibility: Plantronics CS50-USB Wireless Headset
« on: September 02, 2009, 11:01:42 pm »
Hello All,

I'm looking to use my Core to manage incoming/outgoing calls in lieu of the Broadvoice VOIP adapter currently in place. I saw Thom's demo of the Phoenix Solo USB Microphone and the speaker set, which was awesome, but I wanted something I could carry around the whole house. I came across the Plantronics CS50-USB Wireless Headset for VoIP Softphones, but I wanted to be sure that it could be used with LinuxMCE. My question is would I be able to connect this to my core and LinuxMCE just recognize it as a PNP device, or would this require some work on the back-end to make it compatible.

Thanks,

Thom,

Do you a personal PayPal account set up for this, or should we donate through the LMCE site?

Thanks for all the input guys. If there are no plans in the works for mythplugins, I can hack my current install to make work.  I wish I had more to contribute in the way of development, but I'm just starting to get my feet wet in programming, and it may be a while before I can add that level value to the project/community.

thanks again.

E!

Perhaps I should rephrase my initial question. Will there be a way to install mythplugins in the 8.10 release?

I figured this would be a nice alternative for those trying to get rid high subscription cable/satellite costs.

I found the link below while trying to figure out a way to make this happen. The process described is a little lengthy, but it may offer some ideas.

Hello All,

I'm looking for a way to add MythVodka to my current 0710 setup, so I can take advantage of the streaming media via Hulu and the BBC.  I started working on it, but I realized that there isn't a mythplugin directory.  Can anyone let me know what if there is way to make this happen. Below is the link to the MythVodka site for some background.

Thanks,

Ern

Hello All,

I know the wiki says that these are out of production, but I'd like to know if they can still be used with LMCE.

Thanks,

Ern

It's a very pretty interface, but like everything Microsoft, it looks bloated and at minimum probably requires a system with gaming specs to operate.  Also, they still have yet to recognize the concept of being all about the media.  Other than that it's cool.  ::)

Thanks for the reply Tim. The prices on Yamaha's aren't as bad as thought they'd be, I will take your advice and just get one of those.  Just so I'm clear, any of the RXV-1x00's will work on LMCE using pnp?
