Ok, I have the script and am starting to comment it out so I know what it does. Am I correct in assuming that if I re-insert it into the filesystem.squashfs file and re-author the dvd I am golden?

Thanks Thom!

What package/script should I *attempt* to hack at in the DL DVD iso to work around this? Not sure I can, but I need to try:)
Thanks Thom!

It looks like the install script attempts to write to /dev/cciss/c0d01 instead of /dev/cciss/c0d0p1 for the first partition?
How can I get around this for 710?

Kubuntu 810 will install on an HP (and therefor I assume simply installing the beta through apt will too), but will the unified installer for 810 still have the bug?

Thanks!

Stay the f#ck away from that POS. As it is a standard SIP phone, it will work but it really is a POS.
And Snom support blows, I had firmware issues and their tech support could only speculate about aspects of the phone. Ridiculous...

If you can afford it, Aastra's have been rock solid at my shop, I have some that have been power cycled or reset in many months.

Users / TV Tuner Question
« on: April 09, 2009, 03:32:49 am »
I actually don't even own a TV ;) but am setting up a system and have a few questions. Being in Canada, from what I understand Cable from Shaw must be decoded by their Motorola box if you want to watch HBO in HD for example. That makes it necessary to hook a TV up directly to it (as well as one of the TV's inputs to a media director). If I wanted to watch regular TV, I could stream the signals by hooking the cable up directly to a tuner in the core?

So I am reading about this HDHomerun, aside from streaming the video over the wire, does this add any viewing capabilities to the system as far as what can be watched/tuned from where? I'm a little unclear on "what" can be streamed and how? If it hooks up to incoming cable, I still cant decode any HD that is not OTA, right?

Bottom line I guess, until an HD capture card gets support, streaming anything from the Shaw box in very high quality isn't an option, correct?

Thanks!

I see there is a myriad of devices supported in svn for inclusion in 810. I don't really know anything about zwave but I know if Insteon gets support, all the devices would get covered. I am working with Thom hopefully at adding support for the 2412N and am awaiting what he thinks it will take as far as hours. A guy at Insteon has been a total hard ass with me and not made this easy.

I am going through incredible grief over getting Insteon docs for the new 2412N Ethernet based controller for Insteon lighting and HA products.

What can anyone suggest as far as zwave and its use in mce? Is it pretty solid, and issues to be aware of?
Also, does anyone have any reco's as far as a manufacture to favor for zwave integrated products?

Thanks for any insight!

Developers / Insteon 2512S and 810

Anyone know if DDamrons implementation of the 2412S will be included and fully functional in 810? Currently its a bit of work to get this setup in 710.
Thanks!

CMIIW,
Would not any phone compatible w/ asterisk work, or does mce add anything to the equation?

Are these length to server as placeholders for future apps, or is this an error?

Thanks!

Does the DT360 run Thoms image? I thought his image only worked on the older 366?
Can a laptop style tablet pc be made to work with the javamo?

Thanks!

sinnor,
That deal still available?

I they are in good enough condition, I would take them.

What's the low down on using these, I am about to order some devices and am not sure what to get. I think I might get a new WebDT360 (so it can be dual purposed) and either something like a Nokia N810 or some Touch's.

What would you guys suggest, the Nok, or Apple?

Also, is the Javamo a better interface then the web interface? Is it possible to run the javamo on the touch/iphone after its jail broken and has java installed?

Thanks!
