/etc/init.d/mediatomb start

works but after 5-10 mins mediatomb dies without any message in the logging /etc/log/mediatomb.log

when you view the packages in webadmin it says that mediatomb is disabled, maybe that gives a clue how to correct this problem.

On my core the mediatomb server stops after a few minutes of activity without leaving any error message in the logging.
After restarting mediatomb with sudo /etc/init.d/mediatomb restart the same happens again.

Below a snippet of the log file, there are more warnings on Failed to stat, but no other messages in the log.

I created a Kubuntu 0810 machine VirtualBox and followed the instructions in the Wiki on building Linuxmce (without chroot).
Everything goes fine (after changing sources.lst) uptill the buildstep 'import-databases.sh' see log below.

Who can help me with this one?

The Xorg.log reports:

I struggled to get the Touch Orbiter code working on the Webdt under Windows CE.
It turned out that the wince on webdt does not support multi-threading.

The advantages of Touch Orbiter under WinCE vs the Padorbiter:
- shorter boot time
- power save of wince helps battery life
- future proof

How to build the Touch Orbiter for WebDT 366:
1. svn co http://svn.linuxmce.org/svn/branches/LinuxMCE-0810/src/WindowsCE
2. cd WindowsCE
3. svn co https://cegcc.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/cegcc/trunk/cegcc
4. cp ../*.patch .
5. apply patches:
    - patch -p0 -i Webdt366_No_Multiple_Threads.patch
    - patch -p0 -i libpng_pngconf.patch
    - patch -p0 -i libpng.mingw32ce.mk.patch
6. make all-x86

If there was already a TouchOrbiter and/or tool chain build done:
- rm cegcc/build/x86mingw32ce/.compiled
- rm libpng-1.4.3/*.o
and execute step 4, 5 and 6 from directory WindowsCE.

Linuxmce will use the largest disk, so no issue there.
But the users access the samba shares through there private pc's (laptops), if they are not carefull they store the data on the OS drive.
The user sees the following directory structure when accessing a samba share:

share --- videos ---- Media [39]     (my 2nd drive)
           |             +- Other subdirs
           |
           - music ----- Media [39]
           |             +- Other subdirs
          etc..

If data is not stored in Media [39] it does not end up on the 2nd drive.

I modified smb.conf to point to   /mnt/dev/Media [39]/user_1/data in stead of /home/user_1/data
which does what I need, but will get reset after a reboot.


How are you keeping user data seperate from the OS disk?

The 2nd drive is auto detected and has the LMCE directory structure.
I want the exposed samba shares point to the 2nd drive only, so users use the 2nd drive only.

I modified /etc/samba/smb.conf to do this which work fine, but this gets reset to the default configuration after a reboot (which I expected).

Any suggestions how let users (through samba) only access the 2nd drive?

I checked the mentioned files, they are all available.
When I remove one of the dll I get a message about missing files, so I do not think this is the problem.

I created a helloworld program with cegcc, which works fine on the webdt.
Also the examples provided by the zlib and jpeg lib run fine.
However the example pngtest provided by libpng fails with the same message. So I assume the problem is in this library.
I added the following settings to the makefile....
MINGW_CCFLAGS="-DPNG_CONSOLE_IO_SUPPORTED -D_WIN32_IE=0x0400 -D_WIN32_WCE=0x0420" ALIGN="-falign-loops=2 -falign-functions=2

but no difference... continue to investigate... but help is appreciated.

I build the Touchorbiter for x86 and installed it on a webdt366 with WinCE 5.0.

When starting the application it reports "No a valid Win CE application" and aborts.

Any Clue?

Indeed, the cause of the build errors was in the dependencies.
After installing the missing packages as mentioned out in the previous mails the build went flawlessly.
So thanks for your help!

Now I want to build OrbiterCE for the webdt366.
From what I understand I need to build CeGCC using the build-x86.sh script in stead of the build-mingw32ce.sh script.
So I will start that.
Does anybody have any suggestions how to proceed from there, or is that all that is needed to OrbiterCE run on webdt?
