The mouse over didn't seem to work for me at zap2it, but I was able to generate a nice table by running a report on my lineup at Schedules Direct.

I've now entered the xmltvid for all my channels.  But I get errors running mythfilldatabase.  Here is the output I get (doesn't seem like it can login into the sql db.)

gaffney@dcerouter:~$ sudo mythfilldatabase

I kinda suspected that.  Has anyone gotten schedules direct to work with 710B3?

I can pull the lineup down but I have nothing in the guide.  Not sure where to look for troubleshooting.  Anyone know of some logs I could look at or try to force the schedule in manually somehow so I can maybe see and error?

Thank you.

I disagree about the Torrents.  It's a great concept, but the reality is they always end up extremely slooooooooow and can take days to pull down something that should take a few hours.

It's like bringing home a fat chick,  sounds like a good idea at 2:00 am.  But the end results are never good.

Spoken like a true leech.  ;D If people would bother to seed... it should only take a few hours.  But I guess complaining is easier then helping out and carrying your own weight for a change.

Your right, IF people would seed AND have decent upload speeds (Usually not the case with DSL or less).  But most don't or just can't.  Not to mention there are some ISPs that block torrents.  The other catch to torrents is people only seed if the are downloading at the same time so it only works well if alot of people want the same thing at the same time.

Like I said, the concept is great but their are other factors involved that make it tough to work the way it should. In turn making it a very slow process.

If someone has the ability to put up a mirror we should be all for it.

I think most use the HDHomeRun device if you want a digital signal.  Otherwise one of the Hauppauge TV cards work well to.  I've used the 150 and it worked well for an anolog signal, but you won't get digitial or HD out of it.
Other have a combo of both.

Users / Updates / Schedules Direct

It looks like an updated is needed to get schedules direct to work.  But I can't seem to get any updates to apply, or I have a different issue.

I have ran these commands per the forums for a manual update.

cd /usr/pluto/bin
sudo ./LMCEUpdate_DownloadXml.sh
sudo ./LMCEUpdate
(takes some time, but when complete...)
sudo ./LMCEUpdate_Apply.sh

Nothing seems to happen when any of them are entered.   How can I tell if I have the lastest updates, or how can I troubleshoot Schedules Direct.  It pulls down my lineup in the MythTV setup so I'm pretty sure I have I it setup right.
(Running 710B3 64Bit)

Thank you.

Probably a dumb question but wanted to verify before I messed anything up.

Per the wiki http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Restricted_Software_Installation_Guide

w32codecs needs to be installed for wmv, wma and realplayer formats.  Would this be what I'm looking for for the 64 bit version?

Installation issues / Re: Orbiter failed to initialize OpenGL - 8400 GS
« on: January 28, 2008, 07:29:33 pm »
I've decided to dump this card, I didn't see anyone out here using it in 710b3.  It wouldn't even display the kubuntu logo and progress bar during boot and after hours of driver installs and many different xorg configs I've replaced it with an nvidia Geforce 7300.

Just like that I have video.

Installation issues / Re: Installing 0710b3 x64 nvidia driver issues
« on: January 26, 2008, 09:43:21 pm »
2. May be related to having the cd in the pc when rebooting. I think I have seen this before.

The video issue I think this is related to not having a mode line. in xorg after the driver update.

I used envy to new drivers and set up the xorg still same problem so I ran the Install with the nv drivers in UI mode.
It made it through the install fine and worked with UI1.

I changed xorg driver to "nvidia" rebooted and got Avwizard can not start X
Reran envy -t updated the xorg rebooted and reran the avwizard  now I have mode lines and  ui2 no alpha blending is running fine.
I think I'm having the same problem with an 8400gs.  I can get through the wizards with the driver set to "vesa" and run UI1.  Once I change it back to nvidia all I get is a black screen.  I don't understand the "mod lines",  could you post your xorg.conf or at least mod lines so I can see if that works for me?

Thanx

Any luck with this dthrock?

I have the same problem with an Nvidia 8400GS, but I am using a VGA connection.
If I change the "Driver" in my xorg.conf to vesa it works. (in UI1 onyl).  Once I change it back to the nvidia driver all I get is a black screen.

fyi - Changing it to "nvida" reslts in a black screen with my monitor telling me it can't display the video mode.  This is trying to get into the AVWizard (using the shift key during boot after the beeps)

I can startx and run kubuntu just fine, it's just the orbiter that fails so I'm *thinking* the driver is installed... maybe?

I never like dealing with linux vidoe drivers  >:(

Installation issues / Orbiter failed to initialize OpenGL - 8400 GS
« on: January 25, 2008, 10:26:02 pm »
Hello,

I had an nvidia 6200 PCI card working great with UI2 but could not get HD as it was a PCI card.  I replaced it with nividia 8400 GS PCI express and now I'm having driver issues.
I followed this to get the driver installed.
http://wiki.linuxmce.com/index.php/Display_Drivers
And it appeared to go OK and I can successfully run the AVWizard now.  However I can only launch UI1 successfully.  If I select UI2 I get the "Orbiter failed to initialize OpenGL"

I'm suspecting my xorg.conf if not correct but not sure how to fix it,  can anyone give me some advice. Here is my xorg.conf
I also tried the envy suggestion but that fails at install due to dependencies.

I was unable to find a 6200 PCI-X card so I now have a NVIDIA 8400 GS.

I swapped them and now have driver problems.  I'm about to follow this:
http://wiki.linuxmce.com/index.php/Display_Drivers
To change the drivers for the 8400 GS  but another poster said this driver would be in 710,  I'm running 710B3.
Is this still the right path to go down?

I *think* my network settings were re-set to the DVD defaults after I did a 704 to 710b3 upgrade.
But they were easy enough to change back.
