Please enlighten me what is this suppose to mean??
Whenever you sell LinuxMCE installed on hardware or hardware that is explicitly specified to be used together with lmce you have to obtain a license from Pluto. Please read the Pluto Public License. rgds Oliver

Hello to everyone on the site.
I've started playing with LinuxMCE few month ago and accidentally fell in love with it. So when one night I've checked name linuxmcestore.com and found out that it is available it was too compelling to register it and park at my hosting. Now I'm thinking, since that name is really broad one and I alone probably would not be able to fill it up to it's true potential, I'm thinking to convert it into virtual mall where everyone interested could get a storefront. Thoughts?? Ideas?? Comments??
Right now, I suggest to go someplace else. And maybe contact the lmce project manager danielk about the issue. I think it would appropriate to transfer the domain to him, so he can move the registration into the foundation, once the foundation is fully established. Doing anything else with it, does not look to clean to me. rgds Oliver

LinuxMCE / Users / Re: LMCE directory structure? Show folders not all files?

If you specify the drive to be used with an lmce structure, you will NOT loose your existing data on the drive. It will just add a directory structure. And YOU can easily move your files into this directory structure as you see fit. To be on the save side, I would look in the wiki for folderlock, to make sure updatemedia ignores the files while you move them around.

LinuxMCE / Users / Re: VDR replay good and Media replay not so good - interlacing problem

[..] But replaying them with the Media listing looks awfull. Lots of Interlacing around Peoples bodies and elsewhere [..] xineliboutput.Video.Deinterlace = tvtime xineliboutput.Video.DeinterlaceOptions = method=GreadyH,cheap_mode=0,pulldown=none,framerate_mode=full,judder_correction=1,use_progressive_frame_flag=1,chroma_filter=0,enabled=1 [..] Could you check, if changing /etc/pluto/xine.conf helps you with the deinterlacing? I don't know, if the settings in there get overwritten (I think they don't), maybe that helps. Keep us posted, please.

The 229$ ipod touch as a web orbiter?
I have an iPod Touch and I can say that even though the web orbiter loads, it's pretty tiny! portrait or landscape. The better half's PDA loaded with the orbiter software was nicer. I also had to edit the refresh rate in the HTML page in order to be able to enter the username/password before it reloaded and erased everything. Try changing from Basic to Small-UI and see if that looks better on the iPod Touch. The iPod Touch has a fairly low resolution, so the SmallUI might be better suited.

#1 I read somewhere in the forums only the i386 DL iso has HD playback, is this true? What other features does the DL iso contain? (not much info regarding the differences between the SL and DL iso's)
no #2 Can I use the AMD64 install disk (and if so, does it have HD playback capabilities)?
yes, on any machine that has amd64 command set in the CPU. #3 If I download the SL disk, can i install the rest of the stuff off the DL disk via apt-get or some other means?
not via apt-get. And there are only additional promotional videos on those DL ISOs anyhow (which you can copy someplace by mounting the ISO image manually). rgds Oliver

Specifically, I need to see the screen of the core/hybrid for troubleshooting call placement and using the dial pad. SSH, diskless, etc, won't get that done. Only some sort of screen sharing util.
Am I correct in assuming that you want to do some troubleshooting on your core? You have a problem with call placement You have a problem with using the dialpad I remotely test all those things at a friends installation using the web orbiter. It works very nice. Of course, you can only use UI1, but it works nicely. I hope, I did understand what you really want. If not, please feel free to detail it again. rgds Oliver

johanr, try to look at what has been done in the device template of the Panasonic IP camera. It might give you enough hints to succeed. (And after you succeed detail the steps in the wiki ) rgds Oliver
