1  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: pluto-dcerouter kept back on upgrade. on: June 11, 2013, 04:53:24 pm
apt-get upgrade only upgrades packages that won't need additional packages. It quite possible, that pluto-dcerouter has an additional dependency which needs an additional package to be installed. You should see that when you do an apt-get dist-upgrade

At the moment there are no backup facilities build into LinuxMCE, but it does act as fileserver for Windows (and MacOSX, and DOS, and Unix) users
3  LinuxMCE / Developers / Re: RFXCOM - how hard to implement on: June 10, 2013, 09:43:05 pm
If you know c++ and c you might want to look at the implementation of the CMxx devices, and create a new C++ device.

5  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Core HDD Size Estimates on: June 02, 2013, 10:26:12 am
I have a 72GB core disk, and have 4 MDs currently defined. A runaway process producing lots of coredumps can fill up any size disk rapidly. Other than that, I liked my 10k RPMs 72GB drive as my core drive, and only replaced it with an SSD due to hardware issues. The SSD now is a 120GB drive, but I partitioned it to only used as much as space as the former drive had, so I can swap it back when it comes back from repair.

If you have an amp with multiple output zones, you can have as many audio zones as it supports. Dianemo supports the use of a multi channel soundcard to have (iirc) 3 stereo zones out of a regular sound card. If your amp supports three analog ins and you have three zones in your amp, you can have three independent audio zones without additional hardware.

purps,

thanks for your text. Did you know that we have a wiki? There is an article on how to play radio. Maybe you want to extend that page by your findings.

Where are you located. If you are in the EU, you can use KNX-RF, Ensteon or Z-Wave, to name a few. In the US it is Z-Wave, Enocean or Insteon. Some people have had success with the Tellstick. but I ave no hands on knowledge, nor know about the stability.
14  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: youtube and the Blueman group on: May 27, 2013, 05:43:38 pm
That's a known problem caused by Adobe producing a not so good working flash plugin.

apt-get install --reinstall lmce-hulu-player

might fix the issue by installing an older version of the flash plugin.

What I would do is, I would re-run the setup wizard, and follow Sarahs questions. She knows where to put the settop box.
