Tschak,

do you have to run regen for the orbiter, if you change the mouse cursor?

sp00nhead,

great!

Would you mind making a wiki entry out of it? You might want to look at the Insteon wiki entry made by ddamron

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Setting_Up_PLM_Template

Thanks again!

digitaldan,

if you look at the pluto_main schema, you will find that column Description in table Device is 30 characters long.

So, we need a device that is capable of receiving messages from the dcerouter, and sending messages to the dcerouter.

This DCE device needs to be able to receive notification messages from the outside world and translate those messages to DCE messages. And this DCE device needs to receive DCE messages and send them to the outside, in whatever format necessary.

Doesn't that sound a bit like a GSD with the serial/IR part removed?

Theoretically, this is possible, but I think it would defeat the purpose.

But feel free to do such an enhancement to the script ;)

benztech,

if sound is not working, you might want to take a look at the Sound Cards wiki entry. Especially the CK804 nvidia chipset does have quirks now and then. Especially over S/P-DIF as (K)Ubuntu 0710 contains a bug in there alsa configuration.

eran,

yes, you can't take a template out, that is in sqlCVS. Reason is: The exporter looks for the psc_mod date. If it is 0 it does not get exported.

The reason behind the exporter is, that you can save your own av device templates, and don't have to relearn your remotes due to a needed reinstall of lmce. Also, it allows for people to exchange the av device profiles with each other.

Is that an existing template you are trying to Export, or did you create it new? It is definitly more complex than any of the ones I have played with. Is the device working correct?

A brief look just shows that it might be the length of the insert statement.

I will look into it. But please post any information you have for this as well.

Thanks

Hello merkur2k,

nice to hear that you got some progress, even though not the way the system was intended.

Play a little bit more with it, and I am sure, one day it will Click for you, and you see why things did not work before. Good luck, and thanks your feedback regarding stuff working.

[..]I do not have all of the devices that need to be designed, I do not have a Symbian phone, or a PDA so testing on those devices is not possible for me.

Also keep in mind, that you don't NEED to build for all UIs. Start with a UI as a UI1 replacement for example, and build it. After re-building all the screens for a new design, you WILL have such a good understanding on how things work, that adding support for the other devices will be trivial for you.

colinjones,

yes, do a general page, and modify the 1und1 one accordingly, i.e. remove the stuff in there, and just point to your new page.

Makes a lot of sense to me.
