Itsik,

I asked the same question in a different thread, and the answer is: No, the new Dianemo HTML Orbiter will not work with LinuxMCE for the time being. The integral part of the HTML Orbiter has been ported over to LinuxMCE, so we (LinuxMCE) might be able to get something going as well.

Am I right to assume that only Dianemo users can apply?!

Nice interface. Nice video. Next time *I* would love to have it a bit louder :)

4
Probably not a thing setup by the installer, but some new default set by Ubuntu.

That information is true, as long as you have as many Rooms as Entertainment Areas. If the number differs, you have to use the sql statement above.

Run /usr/pluto/bin/UpdateEntArea -e XX where XX is the entertainment area where you have your stuff associated with. That should generate the media scenarios. At least, it just did do that after I added a Squeezebox to one of my rooms.

mysql pluto_main -e "SELECT PK_EntertainmentArea, Description FROM EntertainmentArea"

will give you a list of all EA IDs.

See what happens, when you add a Squeezebox to that room.

Just to prove my answer:
Code: [Select]

/dev/sdb1                                               917G   38G  834G   5% /mnt/device/28
/dev/sdd1                                               932G  886G   46G  96% /mnt/device/46
/dev/sdc1                                               3,7T  1,8T  2,0T  48% /mnt/device/428

Developers / JSONPlugin
« on: August 25, 2014, 06:18:01 pm »
Thanks to Uplink, we now have a JSON Plugin available inside of LinuxMCE as well. For details, please visit http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/JSON_Plugin

Thanks again Uplink for your help, in getting Dianemo's code working for LinuxMCE. It is very much appreciated.

The 1404 builds are purely academic. Even 1204 is not even in beta. Just as something to think about :)

We are happy if people do give 1404 a test drive, and appreciate whatever feedback people can provide.

Installation issues / Re: video stops playing
« on: August 24, 2014, 10:51:52 pm »
Is it a local video, i.e. from a shared or local drive?

Is it only one specific video or every video?

Is it a video from the regular video list?

If you do not want automatic behaviour generated for a specific room, mark the room as "Manually Configured" in web admin. This will stop UpdateEntArea to create default scenarios for that room.

Users / Re: adding a qorbiter messed up my rooms

Now I get it. Those new rooms are not rooms, but entertainment areas. A qOrbiter acts as its own entertainment area, that can receive media.

2 notes:

1) What version of LinuxMCE are you on?

2) qOrbiter uses a totally different UI than the other orbiters.

With regards to power usage, I have high hopes that rPi (or similar) based MD solutions will provide the best of both worlds:

1) standardized hardware
2) full MD

phenigma has been very busy with it, and I applaud his efforts.
