LinuxMCE / Users / ZWave not able to get EZMotion 3 in 1 up and running with ZCU010
|
on: May 25, 2013, 12:26:27 pm
|
Hi all, just recently bought a EZMotion 3 in 1 PIR to make a start with the security side of things. After having some trouble adding the sensor to my ZCU010 zwave controller I am now in the situation where the system has detected the dectector, but as a Generic Sensor, under template Motion Detector #54. Status reported is ON/255, allways According to the wiki, http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Express_Controls_EZmotion_%28HSM_100%29, it should be reported as a multisensor. Wondering where to go from here as adding stuff like described in the wiki does not lead up to working sensors. I have attached a log; 1,2 and 3 are homepro dimmers; 4 is the EZMotion and 5 is my ZTH200. Maybe someone can give me a hint on what to try next? kr Han

LinuxMCE / Users / Opentherm, Remeha and LMCE
|

Hi all, 2 weeks ago I had to replace my heating. I have chosen the Remeha Calenta which supports Opentherm. I am now in the proces of building an interface into the system. Specifics can be found here http://tclcode.com/opentherm/. When finished I want to see if this interface (rs232) can be hooked into Linuxmce by using GSD. This topic is to inform anybody interested. I will document the final setup on the wiki. rgds Han

I myself use an old parkingsystem with analog connection, that is hooked up to my Fritzbox that takes care of the analog -> SIP. Has been working flawless over the last years.
An other possibility is Arduino. It will cost you exactly 23 Euro's (or 19 in China) and you have a number of in and outputs. As Tschak is saying it should be possible for other people to use it as well, but I guess builiding it will take maybe a couple of hours.
If you need examples let me know.

I am currently running 8.10 as a KVM VM on a HP N40L. This machine is not that powerfull as well but is good on the powerusage. The N40L is about the same price as a NAS but running it with 12.10 makes it very usable. So even if your system is not that powerfull but you have 2Gb of memory spare I would give it a go.

LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Headless 10.04

Just to let you know. Install headless VM based core worked out of the box. HP N40L with 8 Gb of memory, 12.04 beta server, kvm and vm has 2 virtio nics, 75 Gb image and 2 Gb of memoryOn my first md (Foxconn Netbox 330i, 2Gb memory) after booting I was presented with Sarah. After running through the setup the MD is up and running happy. Without doing anything but pressing yes, no and so on. This is really smooth after comparing what I had to do to get this MD up and running under 8.10 If you guys call this Alpha I cannot wait to see Beta Thank to all of the developers doing such an amazing job! kr Han

I do not understand what you are saying. Either you want a headless install, or you don't. A headless install will never use graphics. Setup is done on the first media director when it is first booted. Anything else is a hybrid install.

Pigdog, thx for the hint. That thread I had seen as well and I tried the headless install, but headless is not really headless . Headless for me is having no X-server at all and this would mean doing the initial install ie users, myth or vdr etc from somewhere else. regards, Han

LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Headless 10.04

Gents,
I am running 8.10 as a VM and want to start testing with 10.04. After having numerous attempts it showed out that LMCE does not like the standard KVM Cirrus card (failed to set up X), the other available cards are tits up atm, due to a problem with seabios under KVM. The last resort, Spice, has its own problem as atm spice and 12.04b server are no friends.
Is there for a headless install really no need for X, and Sarah. If so where do I start the setup??
regards Han

atm I am running KVM (ubuntu 1204b) on a HP N40L which is low on power. It's running my old 8.10 production vm, TVHeadEnd for recordings, a WinXP machine and 1004. Although the latest still has some problems.
