Users / How to set up ATA door phone as a doorbell?

Hi all,

currently my doorbell (analog door phone and Linksys PAP2T) is routed through LMCE0810 as a normal ext (994). I have a dialling scheme that calls a ring group (600) which in its turn rings all my extensions.

This 0810 system is only still there because I can't get the door phone working on LMCE1004. The wiki has not a lot of info (only to add the door phone as ext 994 and make sure the room is of the type foyer/entrance.

What I did is I added a new phone, after creation I gave it extension 994. I placed the extension in my room "Hallway", that is of the type Foyer/Entrance. And that is were it stops. If I press the button at the front door, the phone goes off hook, I get a dial tone and shortly after a busy tone and then Asterisk hangs up.

Maybe somebody is able to give some hints to what I have missed.... (And yes I almost read every forum message of wiki page that contains door, door phone or doorbell  )

Users / Language settings Asterisk on 1204

Hi all,

currently I am having a go at 1204 and so far it looks pretty good! I have noticed that configuration of asterisk has gone from conf files to a database. I am now wondering how to tell the system that I want dutch (nl) as the language to be used in messages. Dutch sound files have been installed and normally I would edit sip_general_custom.conf and would have added language=nl but what to do now??

Allready did have a look with myphpadmin at the asterisk tables in the database but before fooling around its better to ask

Users / ZWave not able to get EZMotion 3 in 1 up and running with ZCU010

Hi all,

just recently bought a EZMotion 3 in 1 PIR to make a start with the security side of things. After having some trouble adding the sensor to my ZCU010 zwave controller I am now in the situation where the system has detected the dectector, but as a Generic Sensor, under template Motion Detector #54.

Status reported is ON/255, allways 

According to the wiki, http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Express_Controls_EZmotion_%28HSM_100%29, it should be reported as a multisensor.

Wondering where to go from here as adding stuff like described in the wiki does not lead up to working sensors.

I have attached a log; 1,2 and 3 are homepro dimmers; 4 is the EZMotion and 5 is my ZTH200.

Maybe someone can give me a hint on what to try next?

Users / Opentherm, Remeha and LMCE

Hi all,

2 weeks ago I had to replace my heating. I have chosen the Remeha Calenta which supports Opentherm. I am now in the proces of building an interface into the system. Specifics can be found here http://tclcode.com/opentherm/. When finished I want to see if this interface (rs232) can be hooked into Linuxmce by using GSD. This topic is to inform anybody interested. I will document the final setup on the wiki.

Installation issues / Headless 10.04

Gents,

I am running 8.10 as a VM and want to start testing with 10.04. After having numerous attempts it showed out that LMCE does not like the standard KVM Cirrus card (failed to set up X), the other available cards are tits up atm, due to a problem with seabios under KVM. The last resort, Spice, has its own problem as atm spice and 12.04b server are no friends.

Is there for a headless install really no need for X, and Sarah. If so where do I start the setup??

Installation issues / [LMCE 10.04] When or where is MythTV started

Hi all,

busy working on building my new 10.04 system. Still working on some minor issues, one of them being MythTV.

I am using networktuners to record and in 8.10 MythTV was started before networking was fully up which resulted in the tuners being not available untill a manual restart of MythTV was performed. I encountered this behaviour with changing the startup sequence changing MythTV from S40 to S92.

Having the same problems in 10.04, albeit some tuners do start, I was looking at which point MythTV is started. Now I cannot find MythTV in /etc/rc.* so now I am wondering how it is being started.

Users / LMCE 10.04 Asterisk status

Hi all,

because my 8.10 system is slowly breaking down on me hardware wise, I have taken on the task to install 10.04 on a brand new core system. As power usage is a major concern I have chosen a Asus EeePc to be my new core. Everything installed nicely and with some configuring I even have Mythtv up and running with IPTV.

The thing I noticed however is that the Asterisk side of things is not in a workable state. My system registers nicely to my Voip provider, but incoming calls do not get detected, Also a Generic Iphone and a Cisco 7960 can be added to the system but do not work. What I see in the Asterisk logs is that the phones cannot be found in the configuration.

Anybody able to tell what exactly the status of Asterisk under 10.04 is at the moment?

Users / Menu MD has disappeared

Since some days I have a problem with one of my MD's.

When booted the screen show a cursor, and alternating black and white screen layout. The menu is not visable but when using the cursor keys only the top half of the menu shows up. Have already regenerated the orbiter, rebuild the MD but the problem stays.

Anybody some clue what is going on?

Users / Controlling a DLNA DMR (Renderer)

My livingroom TV (Samsung UE55C8700) supports something called DLNA DMR (Digital Media Renderer). This means it can play anything Windows "Play To" can through at it, for Kubuntu same goes for apps like Rygel.

So I have the media, either via MediaTomb or Myth, I have the player (Samsung TV) and at this moment a MD to glue it together. What are the chances of the orbiter/core controlling the TV directly using DLNA/PNP, cutting out the MD?

As far as I can find in the forum, Dianemo already offers simular, any expectation it will be ported into LMCE or something comparable will be available? If I could write the software myself I would do just that but getting the TV to play already took me ages.....

Users / 08.10: Mythtv startup speed

Hi all,

Since about 2 weeks I have IPTV up and running. I am using Mythtv more then ever before but have also seen the dark side of things. Mythtv takes its time to start live TV. It takes about 10-20 seconds to get it up and running. Is there anything I can do to speed up the whole process?

Users / Asterisk & CallerID

Hi all,

for the last week I am having some trouble with the incoming caller ID on Asterisk; the caller ID is more or less always my own number. Although I first blamed my provider as they had some capacity problems and in the process screwed my numbers routing in their PABX, after the latter was restored my problem still was not gone. When digging a bit deeper in my router (tcmpdump) and public interface of DCErouter it showed on both occasions the right CallerID comes in but all I can find in the loggings of Asterisk is my own number. The funny thing is it does not happen all the time, just 9 out of 10 times.... It started appearing at the end of August and has been there ever since.

So maybe someone can give me some advice on what else I can check?

Users / How to setup LMCE/Mythtv for multicast IPTV receive?

Hi all,

since some time I have FTTH with unencrypted IPTV. After a lot of hassle I now have the IP streams available on my router (igmpproxy and udpx). When connected directly to my router my laptop is able to show the different tv channels through multicast and udpxy (vlc)
Now I want mythtv to be able to tune into the multicast stream but I am having a hard time to get that going. Anybody has any experience how to set up routing and firewall to pass multicast traffic as http streams (udpxy) are not supported in mythtv.

Users / Video on MD, sound through Squeezebox

Hi all,

In my kitchen I have a MD connected to a Samsung LCD TV but the sound coming from the TV is very poor. In the same kitchen I have a Squeezebox as well. Now I am wondering if it is possible to pipe the audio of the MD through the Squeezbox. I have tried using the Connection Wizard, but both have only outputs so I can't connect the output of the MD to an input on the Squeezebox. Anybody a clue how to get this running or is it maybe not possible...

Recently we had to record new prompts for a customer, and we took the opportunity too record all* default Asterisk PBX prompts.
(*some exceptions because of the Dutch language and geographic problems: no weather and routing)

Because we felt the frustration ourselves, we decided to make these files available to all Dutch Asterisk users out there :-)

To be able to use the files within LMCE you have to place them in the /usr/share/asterisk/sounds/nl folder and apply language settings to your phone setup.

Users / Samba share and "use automatically"

I was confronted with the fact that since a week or so my core was filling up with recordings that used to go to my samba share. The message "low disk space" was appearing on all orbiters.
When checking the storage dirs on myth my samba share was not listed anymore. I did run the "/usr/pluto/bin/mythtv_setup.pl" a couple of times manually and it showed my samba drive was not added. Only after I enabled "use automatically" on the share details it was added again and used for recordings as usual.

Do not know if this is caused by any updates (mythtv_setup.pl has got a date of 07/13/2011 but shows no big differences to a backup file I had) or my system started a life on its own, but I wanted all of you to know so that if you get into the same situation.....
