Installation issues / Making phone calls from MD - FreePBX config

Hi hope someone can lend a hand -

Configured FREEPBX manually as well as Phone Lines in the Wizard located in WebAdmin Page.  I can make calls and receive calls from the Core,, but I cannot on any MD.  Is there something more I need to configure in WebAdmin to get each MD to receive and make calls ?

Installation issues / Slow menu response when loading/copying dvd's

Hi everyone,

Whenever I load a DVD I get an odd response when trying to select options or make any selections.  For example:

Attached to my MD I have the gyration GO mouse and keyboard.

If I load a DVD and depress the center button to get the LinuxMCE Options menu and try then to move to any of the options on the menu, sometimes it takes 30 seconds before I get a response, other times it takes minutes.  The MD has the following H/W:

0710 RC2
ASUS Barebones system
2 GB RAM
Geforce 6800 graphis - DVI--->HDMI
UI2 alpha blend
SPDIF Optical

During DVD Playback any menu movement is delayed.

Has anyone had this experience

Installation issues / Core Locks up every 15 Mins - DHCP appears to be the problem

I've installed LMCE 0710 RC2 - Got through the installed and configured 1 MD.  Core is the only DHCP server in the home.  After about 24 hours running good, the core began to lock up about ever 4 hours or so.  Now it's locking up ever 15 mins.  Review my configuration for everything and only made a few changes from default install as follows:

MD - Set Video to Manual as it was a sugesstion in another post to get Dolby/DTX sound out of system  -  that worked.

No other mods.

Upon investigating, I turned off DHCP on the core and the system has been up for an hour with no lockups.

I'm not sure how to troubleshoot DHCP in Linux as I don't completely know my way around, does anyone have any sugesstions on how to investigate the DHCP "possible" issue ?

Installation issues / Downloading the DL DVD for 0710b4

I have tried a number of times to download the b4 version of the software, but have been unsucessful.  The DL DVD download in most instances indicate that the file is not on the server or page cannot be found.  Is there any other location or download to get these ISO's?

I saw this product at a computer store and immediately saw a solution that would be a great MD if only it would be able to do a PXE boot.  However, after reading further, I learned that this device will read content from M$, MAC and Linux (or so they say).  I was wondering if anyone on the boards have had a chance to llook at one of these and what do they think:

Installation issues / DVD starts up, intro screen plays, but then just does not play any further

Hello Gang,

I've got a new problem that I'm dealing with.  I've got about 3 dvds that for whatever reason don't want to play.  The splash screen for the movie intro, but then the movie just stops.  No message or nothing, just stops.

Has anyone ever been through this or know of a work around ?

Installation issues / Flickr and speed of movement

Hi guys,

I've got a couple of questions for you all.

1.  Is there a way to change the speed that the images cycle in the screenshow ?

2.  I've tried to copy my files over from my connected usb and have logged into the core with the password I created when I setup the system.  However, using Konqueror when I try to create a new folder under flickr/year/day (example I want to create day 14) I get an unauthorized SMB error Access Denied.

Does anyone know what I need to do to create shares on the core ?

Installation issues / MD will not boot - rpc failed: 2

I've had this system running pretty smooth it appeared until I decided to reboot the MD.  Now it will not boot up and load.  rpc failed over and over.

Looking in the log, I see that there is:

dhcpack
dhcprequest
dhcpoffer

over and over, but it will not boot.

Should the PVR 150 card be installed and configured on the Core

OR

Should each MD have a card ?

Installation issues / SBLive and Digital Sound

Hope someone can help or point me in the right direction:

MD - SPECS
ASUS Mobo 3.2
4 Gb RAM
320 Gb HDD
Yukon GB eth0
SBLive 5.1 Card
Onboard Audio - ICH5 - Disabled
DVI-HDMI output
Digital Coax connected to Receiver

I get no sound with this card or the on-board.  I went with this card due to the fact that it was one of those identified as "working out of the box", based on some of the pleas for help that is not the case.

Here is what I've done:

Alsamixer config -

    I set all of the IE958 settings to un-mute as well as AC97 and saved it (boy this took a while to get through) but I did.

    In KDE loaded a DVD in drive, it autostarted with the XINE player - NO Sound
    Launched KMIX - used a myriad of settings (bad thing about this utility, what is on and what is off, no way to really tell) (light reds, dark reds, greens, yellows).  You would think that GREEN (being a standard for on/go/proceed) would indicate that an option is on.  Go figure.

Ok, so I am a little frustrated and am willing to buy "whatever works with this system out of the box", I just want to finally see it work.

You guys have helped me struggle through the slow speed and really pointed me in the right direction, hopefully you can do the same here.

Installation issues / MD Runs extremely slow over Gb etho - Why

System Stats:

CORE:

P4 3.2 Intel
(2) 500 Gb HDD
4 Gb RAM
DVD Drive
(2) Gb realtek ethernet adapters


MD -

P4 - 3.2 Intel
320 Gb HDD
Onboard YUKON Gb Network interface
DVD Drive
SBLive PCI card - Not able to get sound
MCE Remote with USB IRT
MS USB Keyboard and mouse


Gigabyte switch for internal network

Problems
a.  MD Boot time is approximately 20 Mins (Not sure why)
b.  Playing DVD's goes to black screen for about 4 mins and then plays
c.  Getting to KDE - takes at lease 4 minutes

What do I change ?  Where can I start ?  If everything runs this slow it won't be worth the effort I've put into setting this up.

I've purchased pretty much all of the recommeded hardware or at least where I've seen on the forums compatible H/W.

Help if possible

Installation issues / SBLive and ALSA Mixer No Sound

Hi all,

I've got a SB Live PCI Card that I cannot get any sound out of.   Here is what I have done:

1.  Used Alsamixer to unmute the IEC958
2.  Used KDE Mixer to ensure everything was setup properly (not sure if yellow is on or off)
3.  In sound section of LinuxMCE Launch Manager - does not show Audio Driver - on Audio Tab
4.  When I reload the router - sometimes, not always, I get SBLive Disabled (I have selected SBLive in the MD setup in the wizard.

Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong ??

Installation issues / PXE MD Netowk

Hi all,

Finally got my Core and MD to boot well and work and so excited.  However, when I first set the system up, my MD indicated established connection on eth0 at 1000 Mb.  After a number of reboots and video config, it now says 100 Mbs. 

Is there a way to change that ?

MD Sys Specs:

ASUS P4P800 Mobo
2 Gb RAM
500Gb Hdd
Yukon eth0 Gb
SBLive Sound Card - no sound
MCE Remote
Nvidia XFX vidoe (using DVI ----  HDMI)
