Installation issues / Sound volume never stops to increase
« on: December 03, 2009, 06:11:48 pm »
Hello,
Sometimes when I press volume buttons the MCE starts sending losts of IR signals to volume up (or down) the amplifier. You can imagine the panic when the volume starts to increase out of control...
I've verified this behaviour either by continuously pressing the button (aprox. 1sec) or pressing it progressively. Does this happen to anyone? Is there any fix for this?

Best Regards

Installation issues / Re: LinuxMCE Game / MAME - Media can not be played
« on: October 29, 2009, 10:44:51 am »
The game plugin needs to be rebuilt to solve this problem, in the mean-time, you can grab:

http://tschak.homelinux.com/xfer/Game_PlugIn.so

and place it in /usr/pluto/bin

reload router, and try again.

The refered site no longer exists, could anyone publish the Game_PlugIn.so file.

thanks

Installation issues / Re: Beta 0810 and nvidia drivers
« on: October 26, 2009, 12:30:23 am »
try to do lsmod | grep nvidia and then remove all loaded nvidia kernel modules with
rmmod <module> command.

After all modules removed try to install manually the nvidia drivers and start X. Worked for me.

Hope it helps.

Guys,
No luck, I've activated restricted drivers and after the reboot (before running linuxmce install script) the KDE showed up with HUGE fonts.
I've tried to install the 177 nvidia driver but after reboot the KDE had the same font problem.

Then I ran the linuxmce installation script (even with the font issue) and when it finished everything on the screen was huge, the flickr images were so magnified that I could see only a part of the picture.

Then I activated openGL on Media Director webadmin page and LMCE installed the nvidia drivers (new hope) although when it finished I got a black screen, even after reboot.

When I install the Nvidia drivers manually the X window crashes at startup complaining on compatibility issues between nvidia module and Kernel headers (?!?). On version 710 I was constantly updating the nvidia drivers without problems.

This night I will try another from the scratch installation, maybe I will just activate the restricted drivers and start LinuxMCE installtion without rebooting the server.

If anyone remembers anything else please help.

thanks

Installation issues / 810 beta "Failed to start Open GL" error message
« on: October 18, 2009, 06:34:41 pm »
Hello,
I tried to install 810 beta and everything looks ok although after installation process and after starting dcerouter I get the black sceen saying "Failed to start OpenGL"

I'm using the same hardware that I run 710 without issues:
AMD M2 64 processor
1 GB RAM
nvidia 6200

I've tried with nvidia 6600LE but with the same result.

Any clues?

thanks

Please forgive my ignorance, but how do I apply those patches? Is it with svn command?

Please provide the command line to do it.

Thanks

Installation issues / Amazon seem no longer working
« on: August 19, 2009, 12:26:18 am »
Hello,
Several week from now it seems that DVD's are no longer recognized automatically, but the worst is not only that; when I try to get cover art manually on LinuxMCE Admin page it doesn't find any title I might search. I've tried even with keywords like Iron man or spiderman and always with the "No results, please use the filters and try again." message as result.

Is it just me? Any help will be thankful.

Best Regards

Installation issues / MAME Compilation errors on X86_64
« on: July 22, 2009, 12:29:26 pm »
Does anyone ever compiled MAME on X86_64 architecture?
I'm following the wiki instructions but when I'm compiling MAME_Plugin I get the following error(s):

Can anyone send me a MAME_Plugin.so and MAME_Player X86_64 compiled Binaries? Or, even better, the compilation work arround for this error.

Thanks

But how can I automatically restart de Xine Player device whenever I start a movie, is it possible to set this up on the admin page? Perhaps defining a media scenario?!?

Thx
