repo still not working - but wget of the .debs from http://diapub.com/~michael/repository/dists/fremantle/free/binary-armel/ and dpkg -i of the various files gets it installed and it runs. Am at work now so haven't had a chance to see if I can get past my previous stumbling block. Will try if I get a chance later.

-Coley.

I updated the Packages.gz to point to the right file locations - if someone from CHT could drop this in-place and reply here I'll try the re-install from the application manager.
332  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: N900 on: February 24, 2010, 03:43:42 pm
did the link to the package get sorted yet?
if not, what deb do i need to download and install with dpkg?

thanks

333  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: dist-upgrade error on: February 12, 2010, 01:14:15 pm
yeah that will allow the script to continue - but why is it looking for this in the first place?
Is it a mistake in the script or should it exist already?

334  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / dist-upgrade error on: February 11, 2010, 04:20:26 pm
I just did an apt-get update and dist-upgrade on 810 and received the following errors
Code:
Setting up pluto-boot-scripts (2.0.0.44.10021122758) ...
/var/lib/dpkg/info/pluto-boot-scripts.postinst: line 104: /etc/skel/Desktop/LinuxMCE: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing pluto-boot-scripts (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Setting up libmysqlclient15-dev (5.0.67-0ubuntu6.1) ...

Processing triggers for libc6 ...
ldconfig deferred processing now taking place
Errors were encountered while processing:
 pluto-boot-scripts
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Is this something I need to worry about? is it a bug?
If more info is needed ask and I'll try to provide.

received my n900 last week and installed this  Grin
I got the error re not being connected and the above fix got rid of that error, but I still haven't been able to get the orbiter to work.
Just to make sure I'm doing everything correctly, what kind of orbiter should I add on the lmce-admin website for use on the n900?
I think I tried pda and put in the correct screen resolution.
If I leave the "restart if crash" box unticked - the Start Orbiter button appears to do nothing.
If I tick it something must start looping as I have to kill the task as nothing responds.

Also an update appeared yesterday - 0810-01 to 0810-02, when I go to install it says application package not found.
Any ideas on solving either of these problems - I'm hoping successfully updating would sort all  Smiley

336  LinuxMCE / Users / DVBworld HD-2104-USB-S2 install on: January 18, 2010, 05:15:34 pm
I've just received these - thanks Andrew (totallymaxed).
Do I still need to follow the wiki instructions http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/DVBworld_HD-2104-USB-S2 for 8.10 beta?

thanks

At this point, we have to construct a list of the hosts which will run NIS

The current list of NIS servers looks like this:

338  LinuxMCE / Feature requests & roadmap / Re: Thoughts and Ideas on JooJoo's? on: December 14, 2009, 04:13:08 pm
They are priced at $500 and at the moment its pay up before you get it.
IF they ship it won't be till feb.

Lots of mudslinging and litigation afoot between Techchrunch and Fusion garage.

Yes they may look nice - but I wouldn't touch them.

339  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: mount call failed: 13 on: December 10, 2009, 06:28:43 pm
I'm still stuck at this Sad
I've done an update and dist-upgrade so should be at latest.
I've re-run Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh to create the new image.
Deleted the MD from the webadmin - reloaded the router and re-booted the core.

Then turn on MD, announces itself to the router and runs Diskless_Setup.sh
it runs another script (can't remember which right now) and reboots.

Its identified as an amd so I change this to i386 on the web-admin, rebuild image and reload router.

Then turn on MD again and I see it picking up the correct directory for the boot based on the MAC, then it loops as per the OP and gives up dropping into busybox.
What should /etc/exports look like so I can check if its updated correctly? I haven't changed my networking setup.

thanks
Coley.
340  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: pluto-orbiter failed to install? on: December 03, 2009, 07:10:29 pm
In my case I may have removed the avenard repo as it was causing problems with the myth install.
There is another post http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=9232.0 where the avenard repo is removed and it didn't cause Viking an issue.

I've since put it back into my sources.list.
No extra packages added after an update/dist-upgrade on the Core, but the diskless image create script is downloading a heap more, will update here once the script completes.

341  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: pluto-orbiter failed to install? on: December 03, 2009, 04:19:52 pm
I've run into what sounds like the same problem.
upgraded from Beta1 to Beta2 - all pkgs seemed to update correctly on the core.

Meanwhile I've been fighting with an MD failing to boot so decided to re-run Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh so I'd have the latest image for a re-build of my MD image

requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:

Depends: pluto-avwizard (< 2.0.0.45) but it is not going to be installed

I tried forcing xine-ui install but it says its at the latest version.
avwizard version on core is at pluto-avwizard = 2.0.0.44.09120322558

342  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: New 0810 beta install vdr or Mythtv? on: November 20, 2009, 05:11:58 pm
This looks as if it should be fixed.
Check http://svn.linuxmce.org/trac.cgi/ticket/211

Check that your symlinks point to the right kernel images.

the denon avr1910 has all you want and you should be able to find it at that price point too.
I am on the same quest to upgrade my receiver and like the sound from the denons. Won't be making the plunge till next year so if you go first let us know what you pick!

344  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Adding Drives in 810 Beta on: October 19, 2009, 12:43:49 pm
I too ran into an issue with a 2nd hd I had added during the Alpha stage, a recent alpha update before the beta got it working again.
So an apt-get update and then dist-upgrade should have you sorted.

345  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: New Hdd not mounted on: October 14, 2009, 10:09:46 pm
ok something got fixed, I did an apt-get update and dist-upgrade this morning before heading to work.
Came back this evening and now audio has re-appeared.

I'll let you know if it disappears again Cheesy.

thx
