16  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Update 10.04 to 12.04 = success (at least to me) on: March 27, 2013, 04:03:29 pm
I kicked off the script last night, but it was waiting on my input when I got back to it today.
After babysitting it for a while it completed.
VM Hybrid looks like it is operational.
Anything specific I should test for completeness?

Will try your updated script and let you know if I run into the same problems.

Hi
I tried this on a headless 10.04 VM and it fails.
I get:
Code:
W: Failed to fetch http://deb.linuxmce.org/ubuntu/dists/precise/beta2/binary-i386/Packages.gz 404 Not Found
allowing it to continue I get:
Code:
E: Could not perform immediate configuration on 'python2.7-minimal'. Please see man 5 apt.conf under APT::Immediate-Configure for details. (2)
and finally:
Code:
E: Couldn't configure pre-depend multiarch-support for libnih-dbus1, probably a dependency cycle.

I can leave this as is if you want me to try something else with it.

Meanwhile I will d/load the 10.04 release iso and set up as a hybrid VM and try the script on that.

19  LinuxMCE / Developers / Re: LightwaveRF Wifi Link on: March 13, 2013, 07:03:58 pm
Or do they talk real Wifi (in a 802.11a/b/g sense)?
Nope - one of these gadgets http://www.rfxcom.com/store/Transceivers/12103 can be used to talk to lightwaveRF devices.

updated link to specific one.
20  LinuxMCE / Developers / Re: ZWave - qees reto shell on: March 12, 2013, 12:59:59 pm
At the time I had a look for "energy" or "power" type entries in the log but didn't see any.
I'll try adding extra log levels and go at it again.

Is there a particular version of the openzwave lib to use with ZWave-OZW?
ah - spotted it in external.

Thanks

I've added two of these to my zwave network and if they work out will be adding more.
They appear fine in lmce as dimmable light switches.
These units can also support power metering.

How do I get the meter readings back to lmce?
Do I need to update the device template? or is it better to create a new one?
There were some forum posts relating to this but I don't know if it is all in place.

If work needs doing I'll get my hands dirty.

22  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Aeon labs minimote on: March 07, 2013, 11:12:08 pm
To follow up to my own query - the qees reto shell has two types of inclusion, network inclusion and manual inclusion.
The triple click initiates network inclusion, this didn't work. I'm guessing that's a limitation of the ACT controller?
Once I navigate the qees menus and select manual inclusion, then add node my device is added successfully.
Now the manual with the device doesn't give this info, only after reading the on-line manual did I discover this. It is referred to as "Learn Mode" in the supplied booklet.
Once I get the qees reto dimmer operational I'll update the wiki entry for it.

23  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Aeon labs minimote with ACT ZCU201 on: March 07, 2013, 02:30:13 pm
Got some free time last night so decided to start adding z-wave devices that have been gathering dust on my bench!
I recently got a minimote and some qees power dimmers for floor lamps plus some fibaro inserts for existing switches.
My zwave interface is a ACT ZCU201 - Am I starting from a bad place using this? I previously had this just triggering some lighting at sunset with no issues.

Firstly reset the interface and did a router reload - just left with the ACT device as Node 1.
Next added the minimote, issued "add node" via webadmin and "Learn" button on minimote - all good, new controller appears.
Next try to add first qees power - triple click and led blinks blue - press include on minimote - no go Sad
According to the minimote manual, secondary controllers cannot include devices. Am I missing something obvious here?
I thought a Secondary controller/Inclusion controller was one and the same?

Is this down to the fact that there is no SIS support on the ZCU201?

thanks,
-Coley.

Ok cool, with qOrbiter improving - Qt5 getting an offical RC - and omxplayer now having limited trick play I'll have to haul my ass back onto this. I didn't realise how far you had taken it - great stuff, +1 to golgoj4's sentiments.

I just got a tad peeved with everything being in such flux and bumping into walls constantly that I left things to settle - and how they have Smiley

Give it a try with:
Code:
tar -zxvf status.zip

thanks that worked - maybe rename the file to .tgz might be a hint at the archive type  Wink

tried to install this - the zip file is reported as invalid.
Tried on M$w and linux
Can you check?

Trying to resurrect this - phenigma how far has your builder progressed - or is it like me - been on hiatus?

Possy - any chance of a ticker or set of milestones for the donations?
