91  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Problem with MediaDirector on: February 07, 2008, 02:12:36 pm
Does nobody else has this problem or can give me a hint how I can activate or install MythTV on this machine?  Huh
92  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Problem with MediaDirector on: February 06, 2008, 07:26:48 pm
Hy LinuxMCE-Guys,

My core is configured as Hybrid and everything works well.

But I have a problem regarding a FiireStation, which is used as a MediaDirector in a second room.  When I want to watch TV on that machine, I get the message "Sorry. MythTV is currently not running on this platform".

What does that mean? Is MythTV not installed for this MediaDirector or did I missed something else?

Thanks for your help and Greetings from Germany,
eNoodle

yes you're right you will need a linuxmce core. You have two options

1.) buy a FiireEngine from fiire.com and get everything preconfigured
2.) build your own core, using the DVD and old hardware

If you choose option 2, make sure, that you get the special drivers for the VIA graphic card and place them in the right directory (ask the support team of fiire for the download urls..). Or search in this forum and wiki for "VIA Unichrome", "VIA Openchrome", etc...

I can tell from my experience, that the FiireEngine and FiireStation are working out of the box (at least the FiireEngine and the set-top-box, the 1" made some troubles). But the FiireEngine is overpriced and too loud.

edit: ok, rrambo was faster
