Developers / NoodleSkin: Progress and Screenshots
« on: March 01, 2009, 02:54:44 pm »
Hi guys,

I want to share the progress of my new skin I'm developing for LMCE. Here are the first screenshots. The first one shows the main menu, which acts like the mainmenu from Basic. On the left hand side I realized a tabstrip, which will bring you from every screen to the according floorplan. On the right side is a nvaigation, which will be used for room and user selection, some basic tasks (sleeping, computing, power and advanced). The middle part of the right navigation will be used for screen dependent actions, like room selection on floorplans.

I plan to build a complete replacement for Basic skin, so this skin will support normal horizontal, pda and mobile orbiter. As a bonus I'll also build a skin for mythtv, which will have the same layout as the new skin. Of course, I'll also provide some photoshop templates for the floorplans, so they have also a unique look and feel.

For now the basics are done, the mainmenu is functioning, the first floorplan is ready and a lot of graphic work has been done already. Even the smaller bits, like floorplan icons and so on are ready.

So, let's get back to work, there is a lot to do and time is running. ;)

ok, I'll digg deeper into HA Designer first and build the system for both, the basic controls and the new controls. this will make the skin usable from the very first beginning (using basic controls/given plugins) and later on I can adjust the plugins and make use of the new controls.

Maybe some other changes can also be done, for example the color of the floormap icon can show the dim status of each individual lamp, etc...

Hi Thom,

how will the system then know which plugin to use for what skin?

Even if I wouldn't wanted to use existing basic skin elements, I guess I have to stick with the basic control groups for lighting, sprinkler, thermostats and so on (so basically every item which is referenced as toolbar within an plugin). At least I can change the button layout, replacing the pictures.

Developers / HA Designer: How to define Control group for Floorplan element
« on: February 28, 2009, 10:45:55 pm »
Hi guys,

I came across a problem while building a floorplan screen using HA Designer. I used the Basic skin as an example, however the Screen itself (Floorplan with elements, Floorplan selection, Selection text) is working, beside the control box for a single light switch (On, Off, Dim).

When playing around with this, I noticed that the toolbar (control group) for a element is defined in Lightning Plugin function GetFloorplanDeviceInfo.

Code: [Select]
void Lighting_Plugin::GetFloorplanDeviceInfo(DeviceData_Router *pDeviceData_Router,EntertainArea *pEntertainArea,int iFloorplanObjectType,int &iPK_FloorplanObjectType_Color,int &Color,string &sDescription,string &OSD,int &PK_DesignObj_Toolbar)
{
switch(iFloorplanObjectType)
{
case FLOORPLANOBJECTTYPE_LIGHT_CEILING_LIGHT_CONST:
case FLOORPLANOBJECTTYPE_LIGHT_TABLE_LAMP_CONST:
case FLOORPLANOBJECTTYPE_LIGHT_WALL_SCONCE_CONST:
case FLOORPLANOBJECTTYPE_LIGHT_FLOOR_LAMP_CONST:
case FLOORPLANOBJECTTYPE_LIGHT_CHANDALIER_CONST:
case FLOORPLANOBJECTTYPE_LIGHT_PICTURE_LIGHT_CONST:
case FLOORPLANOBJECTTYPE_LIGHT_ACCENT_LIGHT_CONST:
OSD = pDeviceData_Router->m_sState_get();
if(OSD.find("OFF") != string::npos)
iPK_FloorplanObjectType_Color = FLOORPLANOBJECTTYPE_COLOR_LIGHT_CEILING_LIGHT_OFF_CONST;
else
iPK_FloorplanObjectType_Color = FLOORPLANOBJECTTYPE_COLOR_LIGHT_CEILING_LIGHT_ON_CONST;

PK_DesignObj_Toolbar=DESIGNOBJ_grpLightControls_CONST;
break;
default:
OSD = pDeviceData_Router->m_sState_get();
if(OSD.find("OFF") != string::npos)
iPK_FloorplanObjectType_Color = FLOORPLANOBJECTTYPE_COLOR_LIGHT_CEILING_LIGHT_OFF_CONST;
else
iPK_FloorplanObjectType_Color = FLOORPLANOBJECTTYPE_COLOR_LIGHT_CEILING_LIGHT_ON_CONST;

PK_DesignObj_Toolbar=DESIGNOBJ_grpLightControlsOnOff_CONST;
break;
};
}

Of course my Control Group (id: 5646) isn't shown, because DESIGNOBJ_grpLightControls_CONST is set to the id of the Basic skin (which is 2275). So I gave it a try and added the control group of the basic skin. Guess what? it is working, it is toggled when I select and deselect elements on the floorplan and it is sending the commands to the device.

So, how to go on with this? Building a new Lighting plugin based on the given one or is there a better way to solve that and get my control group shown, what do you think?

Thanks in advance,

Developers / Re: HADesigner: One Floorplan for everything

I thought you already do?!

still digging into it. Just too much work here and too less time...  :-[

You're right, the resulting floorplan won't be usable if there are too much devices on it. I'll try the "normal" way.

Developers / HADesigner: One Floorplan for everything
« on: February 24, 2009, 10:01:05 am »
Hi guys,

I'm currently digging into HADesigner and try to build a new Skin. While developing the first drafts, I came up with the idea to have on floorplan for eveything (lights, media, security, etc...). I know, that for every floorplan there must be a plugin keeping care of states and so on... Question for me is, is it possible to combine all floorplans into one, so that I get all the lights, media, security stuff displayed on one floorplan?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Yannko,

it should work from within LMCE. Choose your Zwave Interface, Send Comand -> Set Association. Here you have to specify the Sender, the Group and the Transmitter. However, I didn't get it to work within the Webadmin, so I now use the Remote to associate devices.

Using the Seluxit Software is also possible. If you plug in your controller and start the software, you should see all your devices. You can then choose the device of matter, right click on it and choose "Set Association" (could be named something else, I'm not in front of my core right now, so I don't know the correct wording). You can then also choose the group (which represents your four functions). I guess you couls also set the association from within the property box on the right hand side, but haven't tested this.

Hey yannko,

I do not own a merten stick, but I also use the Seluxit controller. There was no need to use the Windows software with the Seluxit. However, for association the offered beta software from Seluxit is absolutely ok. You can connect the Seluxit controller to a Windows machine, configure the associations to your needs and then reconnect it to your core (or MD) again. (I powered my core off before I unplugged the device and reconnected it).

I used the Seluxit software to assign all commands to the Seluxit controller, now I get the status submitted to linuxmce correctly.

I do not own any merten switches, but I have some ACT Homepro, they support up to four groups (commands). I either assign them via my ZTH200 (Zwave Remote) or I use the software. I guess you can do the same with your push actions.

Regarding presence detection, is there something available using RFID or a similar technic? I've seen some 1-wire (iButton), but I would prefer having a solution, which doesn't need user invention. Bluetooth is ok, but in some rooms I don't have MDs with a Blueetooth dongle...

hmm, I guess the only way getting a newer version is to compile it from source. Am I right here?

Hi guys,

I've three ezMotions in my Setup. All modules were included into my Zwave network using ZTH200. I can see them in my setup, but I don't get any events. I tried to associate my viaSens USB controller with each of these devices. However, I see them associated with the controller when opening the viaSens windows software, but I still doesn't get any events.

One more thing to note, when I try to arm the house, LMCE won't arm the house, because it is waiting for these sensors.

Does anyone of you use these modules and know how to configure these devices correctly?

Thanks in advance,

I've seen this products, but I don't use them.

BTW: They will have a Roadshow in Ferbuary here in Germany and in Austria, if you're interested I can give you the contact address.

The E61 has very nice on device debug abilities (even over WLAN). You maybe want something like s60_3_1_app_trk_2_7.sisx. This should allow you to see the outputs/error messages from the failed app start on the phone (you also can do some other very interesting things with that one, but we better not discuss them here :-) ). I could not further test it as the data cable on my N73 got a loose contact.

Hi hari,

Thanks for information. I'll get that application and try to get more information out of it.

@possy: could you plz try on your e61?

e61 isn't working here too. Hari, shall I send you an e61 for testing purpose?
