i compiled the source and it seems to be working!!!!

steps to take for i386 architecture ( i don't have the 64 bit lmce).

make a backup copy off:
cp /usr/pluto/bin/CM11A /root/
cp /usr/pluto/bin/Lighting_Plugin.so /root/
cp /usr/pluto/lib/libSerial.so /root/

then remove those files!!!
rm /usr/pluto/bin/CM11A
rm /usr/pluto/bin/Lighting_Plugin.so
rm /usr/pluto/lib/libSerial.so

download the file http://www.cobradevil.org/downloads/lmce_CM11A_i386_beta2_3.tgz

unpack the file like this:

tar -xzf lmce_CM11A_i386_beta2_3.tgz -C /

- remove the CM11A device from the wall outlet
- reboot (optional) but preferred i guess
- then remove the CM11A interface from the pluto web interface
- plug the CM11A back into the wall outlet
- then recreate that device add some lights
- then reload router and you should be set!!!

With kind regards,

William van de Velde

sorry to ask a possibly dumb question, but im guessing your link leads to the compiled files?

Ah, Ok. That makes more sense. I will wait. Not sure whats required for a Dev environment.

this is pretty much why I waved off until an official release. I cant wait to test it though!

followed the instructions, fixed the problem for me.

what he said, but you may find it under Advanced/Configuration/Unknown Devices. :)

good point   :D

1089
try looking in the webadmin.

  • On the top navigation, there should be a button called 'Advanced'
  • Under 'Advanced' other options appear down the list is 'Unknown Devices'
  • Find the device which looks like the one in question and click the 'Unlock' button next to it

That should get it to bring up the prompt again. As far as which version, im not sure. I have an older smartphone so im not sure if the software will run on the newer platform.

hope this helps.

Developers / Re: CM11A - adding new lights...
« on: February 20, 2008, 11:06:33 pm »
After a couple of weeks of frustration, I finally have it working.
What it boils down to is that the CM11A its self has a firmware problem that makes it lock up when you switch computers. To reset it, all you have to do is unplug it from the wall, unplug the serial cable, take the batteries out (keep them out, lmce doesn't need them) and let it sit at least 15 minutes. Plugged mine back in and it works as it should now.
I found this out here http://www.shed.com/ddt1.html and it appears to be a common problem with these interfaces.

I added a troubleshooting section outlining these steps the the CM11 wiki

Dude, thanks for finding this! Im moving to insteon (slowly)  but Im sure it will be a great boon for everyone with x10. We need more users to do this.

im not a flash expert by any means.

However, i do have some experience with using it and php. I think its entirely possible to build these tools, but we would really need people who are a lot more experienced in actionscript that I am.

Currently im trying to build a flash media browser, mainly from my frustrations with the existing one. However its slow going with maybe %10 done.

So I think yes flash is possible to do what your talking about, but  we would really have to dig into actionscript deeper.

my 2 cents.

i've actually seen this when I use my windows mce remote. Using it to change channels seems to make it jump twice as well in my limited mythtv use. It only seems to happen on the core/hybrid and not the md i also use it for.

Maybe I watch too much 24/Stargate...and they always lose those trackers anyways. I just found the whole setup funny. If he has all that free time we should point him our way.
