Ok, money was sent.
thanks, received!

Doorbell is funded.
BongoWongo is donating the Siren.

Thank you guys for helping adding device support to LMCE!!

btw, I bought a Fibaro Universal Binary Sensor, support will follow soon. Very recommended to hook up generic sensors or temp sensors.

On a serious note, are we against charging for a professional setup of linuxMCE and end user support. By charging I'm thinking of only hardware and labor of hardware installation, the os and os setup would have to be free, correct?

there is no problem with charging somebody for a professional setup. But it should be a professional setup and not just a default install where the customer is referred to the forum/irc to search for help to get his installation working :-)

and if you're smart you're running your cabling for switches, lamps and appliances in a star originating from your closet. That way you can devices with multiple channels (cheaper) and easily replace them if some other system evolves over the next decades.

I have good experience with Z-Wave, I'm using it for years and I did write the LinuxMCE implementation. If I were you, I'd prefer wires. Z-Wave is great for retrofitting, but when you have the walls open, get a wired solution.
