More bad news for me. I recently got a variable gain aerial amplifier (from Dick Smiths) but this did seem to make any significant difference in LMCE. So I removed the Avermedia 777 and installed a DVICO dual digital 2 (already had this in another PC). Not auto detected, however I got the drivers installed (following these: http://www.itee.uq.edu.au/~chrisp/Linux-DVB/DVICO/) and both receivers working. PROBLEM REMAINS! Boot up in LMCE with either card and I get quality issues. Boot up in Mythbuntu with either card installed, no quality issues at all (the amplifier seems to have fixed this issues with Ten HD in Mythbuntu). So - I'm thinking there has to be something else I can do? I have considered going and buying a PCIe card (current ones are PCI) but after doing the above I am not sure it'll make any diff. Anyone know are there some settings or driver I can replace? Anything else? Doesn't make sense to me I'm afraid...

wombiroller - you don't need to rename them anymore, LMCE recognises .iso's now.... but agreed, yes you should definitely use LMCE to do the rip (assuming they are not some of the rare instances were it can't rip them)
Oops - thanks colinsjones - obviously missed that one.

Hi rodercot,
What format are you ripping them to? If you're doing it in ISO this should be fine but you will need to rename them from .iso to .dvd for LMCE to identify them as DVD media.
Also - any reason why you don't just copy directly from the Core? Makes the whole process (including getting attributes) much better/quicker.
Cheers, WR.

Hey golgoj4, all,
Thanks for the tool. I recently installed this and can browse to the URL - however I can't get the file panel to populate.
I have a playlist created - can see all my media in the second box (e.g. sort by Performer brings all my music up), however when I select anyone - it just pops up with a loading box: " Select by Genre <artist name> Loading"...
It'll stay that way for ever if I don't cancel it (click OK), and the file panel won't get populated. Using 0710.
Any ideas on how I can fix this?
Cheers, Adriel.

Sorry Marper - didn't mean to offend. Just not sure on what the options are about (Remote and Slow?).
Anyway - I don't have one currently so I can't help. Best of luck.

Have you copied the truetype fonts across? That was required for my 770. There should be instructions somewhere if you search the forums.
Thanks Darren - I had not tried this, didn't realise it was required for the 2008 OS single click install file. I'll try this tonight and confirm. Cheers, WR.

Hey Damien, I got impatient and bought one recently. I can confirm I have the same issue for Video Attributes. I don't really use them via the orbiter so it doesn't bother me much. Installed as an Orbiter Template #8 (Orbiter Plug-in). Changed the PK_Size to Nokia 770. Not sure if this is correct but it works for everything else. Other Notes: - Connected via WiFi (good signal) there is a bit of lag when browsing some media/pressing buttons (not sure if this is the N810's limited CPU or something else? Orbiter via Win XP PC seems to be much faster) - If I minimise the application and go back to the 2008 OS desktop - the Orbiter app won't reload or close properly. I have to manually kill the pid via the terminal application. Otherwise all works well. Will add to the Wiki soon Cheers, WR

OK people - looking for some words of wisdom Tonight I installed Mythbuntu 8.10 on my Core/Hybrid (Dual Boot). So this setup is identical in all ways (- LMCE drivers/software/config). 1. Booting into MythBuntu; with the notable exception of TEN HD - all channels work when using Mythbuntu with no quality issues. 2. Boot into LMCE; Every channel has video artifacts and occasional sound pops/crackles. This happens on recordings and when viewing live TV. Both Mythbuntu and LMCE have the Avermedia 777 setup as a DVB DTV capture card (v3.x)... I rescanned the channels in LMCE to make sure but no change. Both OS's report the same Signal and S/N levels from what I can tell. Anyone have any suggestions on this one? Are there different drivers here or something else setup differently by default in LMCE? I have used Mythbuntu 7.10 before also with the card with no issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks, Adriel.

Got a quote for 1 fiire Cheif and 2 Dongles and I'm afraid the shipping is still rather expensive! FedEx International Economy -- 6 days shipping - $82.54!
I'm kinda impatient so think i'll put the order through this weekend anyway, but on the off chance there are others out there in Aus (I'm in Vic) that want to do another bulk purchase, let me know.
Cheers, WR.

I believe the ASUS M2A-VM has an integrated ATI Radeon X1250-based graphics? Unless I am out of date - I don't expect this will work very well. You'll probably want to get something with an Nvidia based GPU...
