Users / Re: Torrent installation

Perhaps I skimmed over it and missed it but have you considered using ktorrent?
It's already installed and has plenty of port/directory options and it's easy to use. I use it flawlessly from the kubutu desktop. I've been using it since the 7.10 release of lmce. I currently run 8.10 and have never had a problem.

I just tried to run the upgrades and I got the following:

Code: [Select]
Download failed.
The list of errors is attached. The recovery for this case is currently not implemented. If you see 404 errors, it might be useful to try fetching package lists (see the Sources tab) and retrying the operation.

The error was:
APT Error. Context:
    Package download failed,
Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.,

Will I need to run these updates on the MD's as well?

Here are some screen shots of the updates. Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,

Users / Question about LMCE 810 upgrades for mplayer/transcode/mjpegtools
« on: December 06, 2011, 05:57:41 pm »
I noticed that I have some upgrades available for mplayer, transcode and mjpegtools. Should I run these updates? Is there anything I need to worry about if I do? Do I need to run these upgrades on the MD's as well or just on the core?

Ok, So I followed the directions in the wiki and I did a search on this forum and still I cannot get subtitles to work.
Here is what I've done.
First: make sure that the subtitle file is named correctly and in the same directory as the .avi file.
File Name : movie.avi
Subtitle: movie.avi.sub

Second: Make sure to uncomment the following lines in the xine.conf file on the MD where I'm playing the movie.(I also made the same change on the core)
gui.subtitle_autoload: 1
misc.spu_subtitle_size: large

Did a full regen on the MD.

Still no change.

I booted into the core and ran Xine from the desktop and loaded the .sub file and everything was working with no problem.
What am I doing wrong?

Users / Supported USB Web cams
« on: November 24, 2011, 07:16:49 pm »
I'm looking for a known working USB web cam for surveillance. I tried to set up a Logitech quick cam that I had but I am not able to get any visual. Is anyone using a USB cam? If so what brand and model?
Thanks,

Dustin

Well, I bought this $13 USB gamepad from Newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826249041 and I think it's either defective or not compatible. I launched a few different games and get the same result. Basically its as if I pushing left on the D-Pad and the jump button at the same time when I play any fighting games (example: Mortal Kombat or Streetfighter II). I read the wiki and I checked the Mapping on the controller. Everything seems to check out. Any other tips or hints before I replace this game pad with another brand?

Thank you Thom. :-)

Users / Is there a list of supported Gamepads and Joy sticks for LMCE 810?
« on: November 13, 2011, 04:03:28 pm »
Just wondering if there is a list of supported game pads and joy sticks for LMCE 810?

Thank you,
I had forgotten that I had to do that.
I ran Diskless_createTBZ.sh and now my diskless MD's are able to load.

Hello everyone..
I finally got around to installing the LMCE 810 release. My core and core MD installed with no problem. Everything seems solid but my diskless MD will not start the install process. I remember during beta there was something I had to do to get the diskless MD installers to work, is there a command I need to run to get the the diskless MDs to install? I'm getting the following error
