1  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Very Simple Setup on: August 18, 2007, 03:31:43 am
I currently have a existing network in my home that is working perfectly.  I want to adda single LinuxMCE box to he network but have only been able to find information on using the system as the center of any network.  Is it possible for LinuxMCE to simply act on the peripheries of the network? I realise this would mean I would have to manualy locate shared files on my NAS but this is not an issue as I don't think that should be too difficult.

Thanks for the input!

2  LinuxMCE / Compatible Products & Services / Uber excited about LinuxMCE (but have a few hardware questions) on: August 16, 2007, 02:56:11 pm
For the last few months I've been using WindowsMCE in a home theatre my roomate and I built.  Recently I started looking across linuxMCE and saw all the things I desire in windowsMCE.

My current system (that if compatible I will be installing linuxMCE on) is as follow... It may seem like overkill but it was a really good deal:

Asus A8N32-SLI
AMD FX-60
2gb memory (pc3200)
EVGA GX6800x2
Creative X-FI Elite Pro

Video Projector: Sony VPL-VW50
Speakers: Sony HTD-DW830

As you can tell there is no video capture device and we have no need for one at this point in time.

I also have a question about HD playback and I'll ask it here in the interest of not filling up the forum with one line questions....  Is HD playback from say HD home videos working or will it be a feature in a future release?

Thank you very much for taking the time to read over this,
SAM
