Hey teedge77.
I wasn't criticizing you, just using you as a good example of putting some pertinent info in.
I searched for some time and you were the first one I found.
Really, it was an indirect compliment.
I would like to see something like:-
Server/back-end asus whatever, 1GB RAM, 1TB sata raid 5 hauppauge PVR 150 & 350 Digium XP100 & TDM400 (1-fxo, 3-fxs) xwz cctv framegrabber
Client/front end asus M2NPV-VM, 512KB

I am sorry you've had such difficulties, but there really are people who are using this system (and its ancestor, PlutoHome) on a day to day basis, in homes with multiple media directors and storage hanging all over the place, with home control etc.. it does work, honest.
I hope you'll try again soon, it really is an amazing system. I've been running mine for a while now, and I can't live without it.

You know, I wish people that had working systems would put their working linuxmce hardware at the bottom of their post or even better, in their signature on their members page. It would give us a better idea of how many people are using certain types of working hardware, especially when they post. teedge77 does something like this although I don't see any PVR cards.

Does anyone have any fiire stuff yet ?
I ordered some stuff from then on the 25th and the last update on the order is on the 27th, which says it was assigned to someone... I know I'm being impatient as some of this stuff takes time, but this is the first time I had someone charge my card (was almost immediate) prior to it being ready to ship. Having said that, I did ask them a question before my order and they did respond... It just took a couple weeks... Hello again. It's been about 4-weeks. Any news on your fiire purchase yet ? Regards...Martin

I dont know about the rest of you guys/ gals, but im very happy with what the media centre has offered me so far. Granted im still busy setting it up, and here and there I do run into some problems, but all of these are fixable. Every day I find new little features and gadgets built in that amaze me even more. Even my girlfriend (who is not a technical fundi) is amazed at what this thing can do, and how easy it is.
Can you provide a list of components that you use on the server/back-end and the client/front-end ? I'm sure it would be helpful for many people here.

Zwave is a technology not a company (Zensys).
Are you talking about the new ACT Solutions zwave devices ?
Zensys made a drastic change between versions 1.21 and your 1.24 which is not downward compatible.
I understand that Paul Webber has talked to Phil Kingery of ACT about it.
Perhaps he can enlighten us.

Well, I finally talked to someone at fiire. They say the fiire engine (the server, what pluto calls the core, mythtv the backend) is a M2NPV-VM http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2=101&l3=0&model=1138&modelmenu=1has 2 pci slots. My query about what to do with the other cards was that i could put 2 PVR cards into the fiire station (thin-client, what pluto calls the media director, mythtv the frontend). I was sort of surprised as I expected everything to be in the server, although it balances the load...still :- 1) I wouldn't have thought a thin-client could handle Two PVR's encoding signals whilst receiving a movie from the server and outputting it to a TV, all of which, could be HDTV and, of course, sending those Two PVR data streams back to the server simultaneously for storage. 2) As that is, effectively, dual backend/frontend, I wasn't even sure linuxmce/pluto could do that although mythTV can. I'll leave it to people with more experience and knowledge to comment on this. I'm just reporting what I was told.

Well I have a little success story. One of the motherboards that is listed as bad hardware is working perfectly with my setup. I'm running on the Asus K8V motherboard with an AMD64 3400 CPU. A Nvidia 6600GT, with 1.5 gb of ram. This system is running like a dream on UI2 The only problems I am having is with basic setup issues. It is more a case of I should read the user manual more.
The K8V isn't listed, but the K8V-X is. They are different motherboards. Unfortunately, someone keeps changing/deleting content so the reasons the K8V-X is bad isn't there. When I tested Two M/B's with Hauggepauge PVR cards in both Linux and Windows, they fail to work. Put them into another asus motherboard, and they work fine in both OS's.

That's interesting.
Firefox 2.0.0.2 Opera 9.23 Build 660
They both hang and never actually update the settings on the GC100 (ie. close and reconnect shows the original settings).
Konqueror 3.5.7 actually does update the settings
Zaerc..are you seeing something different ?
What versions are you using.

LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Intermatic Z-Wave USB Interface
|

Hello.
I've searched but haven't found anything definitive. Under the theory that someone has a Intermatic Z-Wave USB Interface, but hasn't reported in or added it to the wiki yet, has anyone tried this unit with linuxmce ? and did they get it to work ?
