Users / CM11A appears in phones list!
« on: July 02, 2008, 11:52:16 pm »
In the web admin my phones list is empty, though I can see phones in the tree. I then add a CM11A and it appears in the phones list!

Is this just happening to me?

0710 RC2

Thanks,

Chris

Users / VDR channel list does not match /var/lib/vdr/channels.conf
« on: July 02, 2008, 11:50:56 pm »
VDR channel list in vdradmin or watching TV does not match /var/lib/vdr/channels.conf despite importing using the web admin several times. The /var/lib/vdr/channels.conf file correctly matches what I upload.

In addition if I set a timer it never appears in the list in the web admin. I assume this is linked to the other issue.

Has anyone seen this?

Thanks,

Chris

I have just purchased one of these:

http://www.tranquilpc-shop.co.uk/acatalog/Motherboards.html

It's going to be a dedicated core. I'll let you know how I get on with it. Only 4w power consumption for the CPU! I can see myself buying a few more of these to put around the house.

Users / "Room Mode" in the advanced event criteria
« on: May 13, 2008, 07:17:17 pm »
Does anyone know what this does? I can choose it for event criteria but it is a text field rather than a drop down so I have no idea what the options are!

Thanks,

Chris

Users / PLCBUS scenes (vs Zwave?)
« on: May 13, 2008, 12:19:45 pm »

I am about to buy some new HA kit and am either going to go with ZWave or PLCBUS. What's putting me off PLCBUS is that apparently it is only 2 times faster than X10. I heard though that you can program the units to respond to 5 scenes, so turning on 4 lights will be 8 times faster than X10. Is this scene triggered by a normal address command, like B10, from any device? Does this mean that LMCE supports them?

Is there something similar for ZWave and is it supported?

Chris

Developers / What is going on with the sound settings?
« on: April 08, 2008, 10:32:22 pm »
It's looking to me like the sound settings don't work properly.

1. No matter what settings I choose for audio output the /etc/asound.conf is always:

pcm_slave.convert48k {
        pcm "spdif"
        rate 48000
}

pcm.spdif_playback {
        type plug
        slave convert48k
}

pcm.asym_spdif {
        type asym
        playback.pcm "spdif_playback"
        capture.pcm "plughw:0"
}

2. /etc/pluto/xine.conf has device hard coded no matter what settings I choose for audio output type, so basically overrides the asound.conf:

audio.alsa_front_device:plughw:0

3. When I specify multichannel analog the speaker arrangement in /etc/pluto/xine.conf is always stereo:

audio.speaker_arrangement:Stereo 2.0

This is beta 4 amd64 from DVD. Does anyone know what is going on here? And where do VDR and Mythtv get their audio device argument from?

Cheers,

Chris

Users / Possible Respond to Events bugs?
« on: April 01, 2008, 11:59:17 pm »
Think I may have found 2 problems:

1. When configuring an event to respond to an MD being turned on it is never triggered

2. In the advanced editor when defining a response to an event, when I press test the whole response I have defined is deleted, and no commands are sent.

Anyone seen this or am I doing something wrong? If not I will file in Mantis.

Thanks,

Chris

At the moment if I want to add automatic lighting to my home I am very limited. I can set up an event which lets me turn on a light if movement is detected in a room, and it's a certain time of day, and the house is occupied etc, but then there is no decent way to control how it is turned off. Additionally, whenever motion is detected in the room the light is turned on, even if it is already on, saturating the HA bus (for X10 this is a real problem).

We need something like this:

- Define which lights in a room should be controlled
- Define which sensors in the room should be allowed to control the lights
- Set additional criteria like brightness level from specified sensors, time of day, day/night from latitude/longitude
- Give a time period after which if there is no movement the lights are turned off
- Ability to specify a soft-on/soft-off, or a time where the lights dim and stay at that level for x minutes before turning off entirely etc
- Not change lights (on or off) if you are watching media in a room
- More???

Has anyone else got close to this? I would have thought this would be a popular feature. I have misterhouse doing this for me now and have got so lazy I couldn't live without automatic lights!

Users / Can't rewind or fast forward VDR recordings
« on: March 18, 2008, 11:09:57 am »
In a VDR recording, viewed from videos (ie not through VDR interface) I cannot ff/rw and when I pause the recording the bar does not show how far through it I am and there is no mm:ss type display at the top right where it usually is (UI2).

Has anyone else seen this?

Users / How can I program this Response to Event?
« on: March 06, 2008, 07:36:59 pm »
I want to program this:

1. If motion detected in hall (No problem)
2. And it's night (No problem) or Override switch (Generic I/O X10 device) is on (??)
3. If I'm not watching a film, reset the counter to 3 mins, and if the hall light is not already on, turn it on

I'm having trouble with number 3, and putting an AND in number 2.

Thanks,

Chris

Users / Auto asterisk config not working?
« on: March 06, 2008, 12:26:31 pm »
When I used the auto settings for sipgate in B4 I could not receive calls. Here are the steps I took to resolve the issue:

1. Switch to manual mode and enter FreePBX admin site
2. Change DID in incoming route from phone number to sipgate usename (7 digit number)
3. Change destination from "custom-linuxmce,102,1" to extensions, then select an extension

I also had to manually add an extension for my Budgetone 100 as it was only added to the DHCP conf, and not to asterisk.

Is anyone else having problems? Is it just sipgate? And what is wrong with the custom dial script?

Chris

Developers / Broken dependencies in lmcevdr on i386 MDs - FIXED
« on: March 05, 2008, 12:20:39 pm »
FIXED: TAKE /USR/PLUTO/DEB-CACHE FROM BETA 4 DVD

I noticed that plutovdr was only present on my amd64 MDs, so i tried to install it manually:

apt-get install lmcevdr

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
lmcevdr: Depends: vdr (>= 1.4.7-2LMCE0710-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: vdr-plugin-xineliboutput (>= 1.0.0~rc2-2etch7-lmce0710-2) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: vdr-plugin-control (>= 0.0.2a-33-lmce0710-1) but it is not installable
Depends: libxine-xvdr (>= 1.0.0~rc2-2etch7-lmce0710-2) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libxineliboutput-sxfe (>= 1.0.0~rc2-2etch7-lmce0710-2) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: xineliboutput-sxfe (>= 1.0.0~rc2-2etch7-lmce0710-2) but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages

Note, this is with a cd install (I got the i386 MD image from the DVD).

Regards,

Chris

EDIT: Tried to install the dependencies manually. All ok, apart from:

Package vdr-plugin-control is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package vdr-plugin-control has no installation candidate

Apt sources-list is:

deb file:/usr/pluto/deb-cache/ ./
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ gutsy  main restricted multiverse universe
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ gutsy-security  main restricted multiverse universe
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ gutsy-updates  main restricted multiverse universe
deb http://linuxmce.com/ubuntu/ ./
deb http://deb.linuxmce.com/ubuntu/ 20dev_ubuntu  main
deb http://deb.linuxmce.com/ubuntu/ replacements_ubuntu  main
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ replacements_debian  main

Can someone give me theirs from a DVD install i386 MD?

Thanks,

Chris

Developers / Lirc binaries not installed in Beta 4 - FIXED
« on: March 05, 2008, 11:55:17 am »
FIXED: TAKE /USR/PLUTO/DEB-CACHE FROM BETA 4 DVD

The lirc binaries have not been installed on my MD. mce2_usb is selected in the web admin, and checking on the MD reveals the module is loaded.

What is the fix for this? On 0704 it used to be to install pluto_lirc_wrapper or something similar (forgot exact name).

Chris

EDIT: Could be related to my other post about lmce vdr dependencies. Problem in apt sources on i386 MDs?

Users / VDR Series Recording
« on: March 04, 2008, 11:29:46 pm »
Is it going to be possible to choose to record a whole series in VDR? I can't see any way to do that right now.

Thanks,

Chris
