Hey you guys.. does the USB-UIRT work with the Beta 2?  The 2.6.22 Kernel broke it for me.

Feature requests & roadmap / Re: Version 0710 release date
« on: December 06, 2007, 11:31:04 pm »
On my Ubuntu machine (7.10) I had all of the ubuntu and kubuntu restricted extras installed as well as the medibuntu sources...  some media files will not play at all in xine.. some would play with funky video/audio problems like xine was on an acid trip...  when played with mplayer they all play fine...  this does not appear to be hardware related as I have tried it on several machines...  intel, via and amd processors and nvidia, ati, and via video cards...  everything points to xine being the problem...  i can also play all of my video files on my mac with quicktime and vlc..  so it's not like the video files are something special...  oh..  they all play fine with vlc for linux too...

I have the same problem too.. if it doesn't work in xine 9/10 it plays with totem, and 7/10 with mplayer and that's on x86_64,x86, and ppc builds.

And yippee for a few more days before 0710.  I've been backing up all my mythtv recordings since Thanksgiving.. hopefully I'll be able to import them.

I have a problem now with Fedora that I hope does not carry over to Linuxmce.  I have a Hauppage PVR-350 as well as a 4-Channel PCI Capture Card.  Sometimes on reboot it gets remapped to /dev/video0  instead of /dev/video1 that Zoneminder is setup to use.

Does lmce use the bus address to prevent multiple tuner cards from taking it's spot on reboot or the same v4l mappings?

Feature requests & roadmap / W800RF/RFXCOMM Integration

It would be great if LMCE could use the W800RF for X10 RF and/or the RFXCOMM that can listen in on X100, Oregon Scientific, Visonic, KlikOn-KlikOff, ELRO, NEXA, Domia Lite,  ATI Remote Wonder, RFXSensor, RFXPower, RFXMeter devices.

Maybe a new title called Linuxmce Migration.. or better yet if the admins can great a new Forum for Migration.  I'm sure this will be a more and more common theme if not already

I'll update you in a few weeks.  I won't be able to devote all the time I need until the Christmas to New Years stretch.  I have alot of data to backup and research how I will re-intergrate home automation (with misterhouse and a dce router connection to LMCE),web, sql, blog, email, firewall, connection monitoring that I've spent so many years perfecting on Fedora.

I found this link below that might help me get to where I want to go. I don't quite yet know the know the structure for the local files for the ip/mac address for each would be stored other than
/usr/pluto/diskless/[ip address]

I was wondering if it were possible for the media directors to run other tasks like setiathome and foldingathome while idle.

I currently have mythtv setup essentially like a core in a closet running as the master backend with a pvr-350 and a hdhomerun, 2 asus pundits running as mythfrontends/slave backend, as well as a desktop running at a slave backend/frontend.  Will I have to sacrifice their ability to run these distributed as if I have them running as netbooted media directors?
