I'm running 0810 and libxine2 but I found problems when I trying to play a .dvd file, and pluto-xine-player crash...
Did you test it with DVDs over 0810?

Thanks in advance,

Bongowongo,
I get it work in 0810.
When it hangs I get this on my /var/log/pluto/118_PLCBUS.log

"05      05/23/11 23:14:59.976           Got a reload command from 0  <0xb5fffb90>
05      05/23/11 23:15:00.231           void ClientSocket::Disconnect() on this socket: 0x98ed050 (m_Socket: 7) <0xb71376c0>"

Just that....

Did you know how can I troubleshooting that?? or maybe find into another log the possible cause of this?

Thanks in advance
Hernan

Hi all,
I get it work (I have a problem with my 220v plug that I made, that had invert polarity), but now its fixed, I can control the ligths with this two small issues.
1) some times I loose communication with the PC1141, I don't know why, but allways happens before some MD ask to me for a quick reload router. I must to reload the core in order to get it back as normal.
2) I use UI2 in all my MDs if I press F6 and I change the brightness the lamps makes it crazy and it to plays open and shade againg and again.
I using one 2264E to control some of my lamps and another 2268E to control some ligths that doesn't have dimming capabilities.

Hi Belanger,
It should work with PC5401 + Power864 (5020).
I connect my PC5401 to a Power585 but I can't make it work.

Hi bongowongo,
I have the same problem in 0810.

I have installed one PCLBUS 1141 an a 2268 micromodule, but the module couldn't register to LMCE and it's seams like LMCE can't communicate using USB to the 1141 interface.

Could you help to me troubleshooting this?

Thanks in advance,

Users / Re: Web Camera not getting any picture
« on: April 12, 2011, 06:22:39 am »
Hi,
I solve my problem with my old webcam, adding a few comands before load the skype app.

run this as root:

#rename /usr/bin/skype to /usr/bin/2skype

 mv /usr/bin/skype /usr/bin/2skype

#then
# make a new file called skype with this:

vi /usr/bin/skype

#Paste this inside
#--------------------------

#!/bin/bash
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l2convert.so 2skype

#------------------------------
write and quit

Then u need to follow this wiki
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Adding_new_computing_apps

I think that this enviroment setting could be added by lmce without need to rename files or doing this, but i didn't try it.

Thanks

Users / Re: md usb webcam setup?
« on: July 15, 2010, 05:17:56 am »
Hi,
I get problems to setup a webcam on a diskless MediaDirector using motion wrapper.
The webcam is working ok (it saves the snapshots into the correct folder) but MotionWrapper can't write a /home/cameras/XXX/lastsnap.jpg (it should be a link) to the new snapshot.
When I try to use the camera selecting it (any method from UI or Web-UI) the MotionWrapper logs displays this:

 Missing snapshot file: /home/cameras/106/lastsnap.jpg.

That's is because the file is missing.

It's not a camera issue, the webcam was working at the core (hybrid) but is not working on the MD.
When I setting up this I followed the instructions of the wiki.
I add a template into MD tree using create a child device (for motionwrapper) and inside it I create a new generic web cam.Webcam is working but I can't visualize the video, because MD can't write a link /home/cameras/106/lastsnap.jpg.

Is this a know issue ?

Is there a way to use a webcam as security cam but connect it to an MD?? ?

Thanks in advance
Hernan

I fix the HDMI audio output problem following this page... http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/community/video-audio-cards/42201-hdmi-audio-nvidia-gt220-mythbuntu-9-10-a.html

Now it rocks, I will go to get down the fan noice,....this is the next step.

mmm...heat is the real problem. the case and fan aren't prepared to get out the heat of the box. This means, that fan needs to work a lot then "noice", a new Bios will work with the fan trying to control noice but it will increase some degrades the temp inside the box, (this should be supported by Zotac).
Ethernet drivers is not big deal, the box is not plug & play, but you can follow the procedure at wiki page to make an image with r8168.
http://wiki.linuxmce.com/index.php/Unrecognized_NIC

I'm still trying to make alsa works using HDMI output....not working right now.

The pros: The performance playing videos or running mythtv is great.

Thanks

Developers / Re: Project VLC
« on: May 29, 2010, 06:20:42 am »
Hi Andrew,
I found a trick on VLC to get Synchronized VLC Streaming. I found it at http://hackedexistence.com/project-vlc.html.
The trick is to "add the IP Address of the server to the streaming client list, start the stream without playing it locally, launch a new instance of VLC, define the IP Address of the Server in the Network Sync Settings, then open the stream exactly as you would on a client." (Text copied from http://hackedexistence.com/project-vlc.html)

Also there is a Demo video on that page.

Thanks
Hernan
