Id like to know more too.

I nearly purchased 1 of these the other day for $399 from walmart (ripley,wv).....so glad i didnt the cradle robbing....walmart associates.

ALSA supported cards are fine...i use an audigy 2

I can confirm this as i Also use an Audigy 2 (platinum ex) although the volume controls dont work the surround sound interface does

kubuntu desktop works fine with the card if thats what you mean.

right now i havent got my tv card installed im just seeing if it still worth installing linux mce with it.

this happend to me as well.

I also had my Firewire zip drive plugged in and it knocked my sound off

I have an x800 xt card (AGP) and just wondering if anyone has managed to get it running (even with basic settings) with an ati chipset.

if not what is the Cheapest nvidea card that will do the trick.

Ill give it a try using my laptop soon I just feel kinda of gutted that i missed out on paying £20 for 5 thin clients that had the flash drives removed but everything else intact.

anyway good luck on the sub $1000 home system I have been considering doing the same (but money is way to tight now)
