LinuxMCE / Developers / Re: Tester for updateMedia id3 unicode fix needed

@Thom: I will, but give me some time to get a working version at first. I don't like the idea of publishing crap that is not usable in any way.
@Murcel Just download the file and play a little bit with it. If available scan some files with and without special chars, edit Attributes, remove them, play the files. What you would do in regular use.

LinuxMCE / Developers / Tester for updateMedia id3 unicode fix needed

Hi everybody, it seems as we have some problems reading id3 files with special characters. At the moment I try to change the underlaying tagging library to fix this, but I need some help testing the stuff. At this point I haven't added any new features, so testing would be limited to everything that is possible with the original version (like scanning, removing/editing of tags, etc.). As this is an early version, you maybe shouldn't use it on your productive systems. UpdateMedia.rar (784 KB)An actual patch can be found here: http://svn.linuxmce.org/trac.cgi/ticket/698Thanks for your help, KingCrab

Maybe you should have a look at LCN , too. These devices are build to put behind the switch, allow dimming and switching as you like (if I remember right) and for data connection, a forth wire beside your regular (L,N,E) wires is used. The problem is, LCN is not supported by linuxmce right now. But maybe your could do the integration yourself or your could find someone to do it ;-)

LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: no picture in vdr after first install

I have checked the channels.conf with easyvdr and the file is working. Unfortunately there is still no picture under linucmce. What makes me wonder is the fact, that the "no signal" image is gone and now the screen is complete black. Could it be a problem with the output in general? I couldn't see the avwizard description video, too.

I can see just the channel names, no epg data.
The channels.conf was generated by calling "w_scan -fc -c DE >> channels.conf". I think a regular channels.conf template would not work, as we have a dvb-s to dvb-c transponder at our house?
