Thanks for your help anyway. I thought there must be a linuxmce way and how frustrating it would be, to find and configure everthing by my self, just to find out linuxmce kills the config files with its next reboot or update ;)

I think I should clarify my request  ;)

It's quite plain to me that there is a way of moddifying and configuring asterisk with usual conf files. But I thought and hoped, the out-of-box solution linuxmce would provide an own and maybe easier way of doing this. Correct me if I'm wrong and it must still be done "by hand".

BTW: The link is very interesting to know what asterisk is in general, but has little relation to my question, unfortunately :(

I've no experience using Asterisk, but I'm interested in using this feature to. Could anyone explain how to setup a Asterisk with external ISDN Line using an AVM ISDN card and and internal VOIP Line for all Soft- and Hardphones?

Thanks in advance

Yes, a ping from core works

Than the problem seems to be somewhere else. All of the dns entrys are correct.
But I can't even ping my providers nameserver ip from "inside"...

On my test client the resolv.conf nameserver entry links to the internal address of my core. Does it have to be the one given by dsl provider or is this correct?

@pixelator Could you give a short description of what you've done and how your settings look like respectively?

Yes, but there no real cause why I choose 192.168.30.0. Maybe just to be different  ;-)

ppp0 seems to be changed already, but my output differ a bit from your one. Don't know where these changes come from.

Users / Client access to dsl connection problem
« on: August 15, 2007, 01:47:56 pm »
Hi,

I've a big problem getting my clients connected to the internet over dsl. What I have so far is a working dsl connection on external side (pppoeconf and pon dsl-provider). I changed the mysql entry describing the network devices and I can see the ppp0 connection details on web-admin/network. But none of my clients is able to reach the outside world. The firewall rules are untouched.

Hope anyone could help me solving this. Thanks in advance,

Developers / How does a core system start?
« on: July 11, 2007, 12:48:12 pm »
I'm still trying to have a core running without the need of a x server. Unfortunately I'm unsure what scripts and program are really needed.

Could anyone please describe which scripts and programs are started, if the launcher start core button is pressed? Where do the logs in the message window come from?

Has anyone a running system without x in the meantime? I've tried it by myself, but I'm unsure if calling "StartcoreServices" did all necessary steps. Does the launcher start anything else?

Installation issues / Re: Linuxmce on a xen enviroment
« on: June 28, 2007, 08:51:54 pm »
My first steps getting linuxmce on a xen enviroment are done. I've a running vmware image with xen kernel and without x/kde, but a few things at startup make me wondering.

- "init: pluto main process (4068) terminated with status 127"
- "/usr/pluto/bin/Config_Ops.sh: 5: [[: not found  /usr/pluto/bin/LockUtils.sh: 5: [[: not found /usr/pluto/bin Config_Ops: 34: Syntax error: Bad for loop variable"
- at shutdown "mythserver backend no backend running found"

Any ideas if these are important or how to fix them?

I haven't tried it yet, but wouldn't it be possible to run a linuxmce core without any kde or even x?

Is it possible to have a linuxmce core running on a xen machine?
Is the linuxmce kernel modified in any way?
