I have no external network storages so far, but linuxmce has generated 4 windows share entries under devices. Maybe them are causing the trouble? What are these devices for?

Installation issues / [SOLVED] no picture in vdr after first install
« on: February 25, 2010, 09:33:00 pm »
Hi everybody,

after a few month without a working linuxmce system I now have the time to setup a new core. So far I got no problem, but when it comes to using the vdr I got stuck.
My system is a core hybrid with a knc tv-station dvb-c card installed. The vdr is running and I can connect to it via vdradmin. (webmin->configuration->vdr setup gives me a error message saying: "VDR package not installed. Please install the package and try again."). My channels.conf is build using w_scan and I can see the channels from within vdradmin. My problem is, that I can't tune any channel on my cores md tv section. Does anyone have an idea, what's going wrong on my machine?

Thanks in advance

does anybody know where these message comes from?

I've just started rebuilding my Linuxmce system and I'm thinking to include a new set of zwave devices to it.

As Merten inwall devices seem to be the best choice for me, I want to ask if there is any progress on the Merten Usb stick right now?
Alternatively, is it possible to start only with two inwall devices and the Tricklestar combi (stick + remote) or do I need an additional static controller?

I'm an absolutely newbie with the whole zwave thing, please be kind  ;)

Thanks in advance

Users / Re: ANN: Orbiter image for WebDT 366
« on: January 30, 2009, 09:48:00 am »
Hi Everybody,

there is a WebDT 360 on german Ebay right now and while readig through this thread I get a little bit confused.

There is a post from tschak909:
This is for a WebDT 366? We do not support the 360, yet.

and another one from alx9r saying:
I just got my hands on the WebDT 360 I bought from tkmedia.  It was preloaded with an orbiter image although I'm not sure exactly which version.

Can anybody please clarify if 360s are supported at the moment, as I'm very interested in buying this device...

Thanks in advance

Wow, that's sounds great. HDDs with space for all my DVDs would be much more expensive. Now I need only a shop that ships to germany  ;)

Is it possible to view the dvds in the sony on our mds? Do I have to connect it locally or could I use the dvds in the whole house?

Installation issues / How to setup an ISDN card?
« on: October 10, 2007, 02:28:46 pm »
My new core setup works great so far, but I'm not able use my ISDN card for connetions to the outside world. The the card has a hfc-s chipset. I tried a
modprobe zaphfc
but the module wasn't found. A zaptel module is loadable. Next step I tried was
apt-get install zaptel
but apt want to remove asterisk-pluto and pluto-asterisk so I canceled it. Downloading the bristuff package from and compiling everything by myself would replace the asterisk and I think that's no option, too. Has anyone an idea how I to use this card? Alternatively I could use a AVM Fritzcard with capi, but for this I would help to...  ;)

Developers / Re: Some EIB things

Have a look at LCN or LON, both are bus oriented homeautomation systems. At least one of them is build in the US, I think. But it's not quarter as good as EIB  ;)

Could someone please post which programm or script listen to port 33333 on core?

I tried using the lan boot option, but it didn't work either. This is my output:
CLIENT MAC ADDR: 00 0c 29 af 16 53 GUID XXXX
PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout

Independent from that try, I have wireshark watch my connection and when I start the installation software on kubuntu desktop, it broadcasts a message, but nobody ever responses. Any ideas what going wrong with my system?

Installation issues / MD Installation failed

I would like to install some MDs on HDDs. I though the installation script would detect a running core and asked if I would like to only install a MD, but that didn't happen. Its just the regular installation of hybrid or core. All the machines get there ips correctly from the dhcp server on the core. Did anyone have an idea why this could happen or how to install a md using an other way?
