I tried editing values in fixMythTvSettings.sh, First i changed just the routerip= to point to my backend and ran the script/restarted MD still having that problem. Tried changing the NetworkControlPort value as well to no avail :( Could you provide a more step by step description of what you did to fix this.

Thanks!

« on: May 26, 2007, 10:06:10 pm »
My setup is working really great right now except for one annoying problem. I have searched around the forums and confirmed that many other people are also having this issue. When i watch tv and my orbiter on my MD launches mythfrontend I am able to watch TV and it works great. However after 30 seconds mythfrontend is being closed and the orbiter comes back on screen. I am not using the backend on the core I am connecting to an existing mythtv backend in my house, but I can't see how this would cause the problem.

Installation issues / Re: A/V Wizard Question For Developers

Thanks for the reply, I have tried ESC, CTRL + ALT + Backspace and just about every other command but I seem to be stuck at the black screen so I just reboot to resolve that. I have managed to resize the LMCE Orbiter using the web interface, shrunk it by 10% and played with the offset. I will try to resize the entire X session by modifying my xorg this evening. Besides these few issues (which is more a linux problem than a LMCE problem) everything is working great :D

The exact cards I am using are WinTV-NOVA-T-DVB-T 90003 LF (Rev C2B0)

If the dual 500 works I might invest in one of these, but it would be nice to see it working with these Nova-T's

Interested to hear about your setup DrACoNus - is that in the UK?  What High Def source are you using?

Mike

Hi Mike,

I live in Canada and I am running Gentoo Linux on my MythTV backend (portage developers do an excellent job keeping up with MythTV CVS and all dependent libraries) It's primary tuner is the Firewire capture hooked up to a Motorolla DCT6200 my cable provider does not encrypt any channels so I can grab the raw mpeg-2 stream for any channel I subscribe to the quality is amazing. My additional tuner's are provided by the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-500 MCE this cards two tuner's only come into play when the DCT6200 Firewire setup is occupied.

I have LMCE 1.1 on Kubuntu installed on three frontends around the house (one of the frontends also hosts the LMCE core) and they only run MythTV as a frontend to stream TV off of the gentoo box. This setup works great for me I can keep all my content and recording on the stable gentoo platform and not have to worry about playing around with the settings on my orbiters/core.

I am successfully using the Hauppage 500MCE dual tuner card with no problems, I am also using a firewire card hooked up to my Motorola HDTV receiver for high def recordings.

Installation issues / A/V Wizard Question For Developers
« on: May 24, 2007, 11:04:05 pm »
Hi There,

I am successfully running LMCE hooked up to my 46" HDTV over DVI, I can successfully setup the resolutions of 720p or 1080i using the LMCE control panel under the KDE Menu --> Multimedia. However both these resolutions are overscanned so I would like to use the A/V Wizard to correct this.

When I manually execute the A/V wizard shell script, it launches OK. However the first screen asks me to select my resolution and refresh rate. Although I'm selecting the same values I am successfully using already (720p 60Hz) the A/V wizard crashes X to a black screen after that step and I cannot continue to the overscan adjustment step (which is why I'm running the A/V wizard)

A) is there a way to just run the overscan wizard without having to tamper with my resolution.

B) is there another way I can adjust the overscan?

C) is there a log file dump or anything the developers would like me to post to help diagnose the A/V wizard issue?

Thank You!
