1  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: [Dianemo] /etc/pluto/media_config.conf on: April 13, 2012, 11:54:22 am
Hi Domodude,

The media_config.conf was devised to cater for a couple of situations where the pipe system was lacking and where it would mean setting up complicated scenarios etc. It also removes the need for one or more reload routers whilst testing. Although you can manually add entertainment zones it is far simpler and better to make two rooms. I'll send you more info via email that will help.
2  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Possible to download IR code database on: February 19, 2012, 07:26:57 pm
It would probably be easier to use an online resource like Remote Central ( http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/codes/ ) if you're not going to use LMCE itself. I believe that some of the initial entries in the LMCE IR database came from Remote Central anyway.  Smiley

Only just noticed this entry (sorry been busy supporting Dianemo systems) but for the benefit of anyone else comes across this entry - Just ensure that the 'Private' tick box is unticked as the playlists are created as private by default.

Hope this prevents someone else from losing their hair.  Wink

Hi Matt,

The path to the jpeg image stream is /stream.jpg:account:password

Obviously replacing account and password for your own. We have used a few of the Y-cam models and that path has been valid for all of them.

Good Luck

5  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Android Touch Orbiter on: November 15, 2010, 09:19:48 am
Hi Darren,

Just wanted to give you a quick update on our testing of Android devices and the Touch Orbiter:-

HTC Hero (Android 2.1 update) looks fine with a screen res of 480 * 320 (iPhone).

Sony Ericcson Xperia X10 (Android 1.6) looks fine with 960 * 640 (iPhone4)

Have to refresh the screen on the change of orientation and after screen-saver on both devices but other than that nothing to report. Looking forward to any updates.

Hi Speedy,

There are many ways to get to the shares on the core but here's one way assuming that you are using XP on the Windows machine (Vista should not be too different but I don't currently have access to a Vista machine):-

  • Click on the 'Start' button, then 'Search'
  • Select 'Computers or People'
  • Select 'A computer on a network'
  • Enter the ip address of the core - usually 192.168.80.1 as it should be the DHCP server and start the search
  • The found object should appear in the right-hand panel
  • Double-click on the icon of found object
  • You should be offered a login box. Type dcerouter\username - substituting your username
  • Enter your username's password and click on the 'OK' button.

That's it. You should see all the shares and the folders for media are behind the 'Public' share.

Hi Ian,

We use Sipgate as the VOIP provider in our installations so hopefully the following suggestion will help you.

From Freepbx goto "Inbound Routes". Click on your Sipgate entry. The DID no. will probably reflect the local number provided to you by Sipgate. Change this to your 7-digit account no. Click submit and then apply the changes.

Hi Gaspla,

We have 3 Panasonic cameras and I have seen the strange status that you mention momentarily on one camera during one of our test installations. For now I would manually add a new camera device - Using the panasonic template - from Webadmin, Surveillance Cameras and copy the Path, IP address, and MAC address from the original entry.

Good Luck!

Hi Wes,

I use the same Motherboard as you in my Hybrid core. You may want to consider using a PCI-E NIC so that you do not have to lose a PCI-slot.

Good Luck

Hi ytuxedo002,

You could try looking at the images on http://www.bttv-gallery.de/ to identify the card and get some information about the required drivers/modules but generally speaking most of the older hauppauge cards  are auto-detected by the kernel as gazlang implied.

Try adding or modifying the following entries to the screen section of your xorg.conf. I had a similar problem some time ago.

Option "ConnectedMonitor" "TV"
Option "TVOutFormat" "SVIDEO"

13  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Problem with DVD playback on: September 22, 2007, 05:52:16 pm
I had a similar situation in an earlier version of LMCE where I made the mistake of playing a DVD in the desktop version of Xine before running the installer for LMCE. In that instance I reinstalled because I could not find where to change the file associations but I now know where to find the file associations under kubuntu so you may want to try there.

The file associations can be found by starting konqueror, settings, configure konqueror, chose File Associations.

There are 2 areas that I'd try - DVDvideo and DVD_Mounted - but there may be others.

On my working system both of these only mention Konqueror.
